Chapter 11: Messed up Timelines for Bread

Ember's POV

I felt someone hang something around my neck and looking around I was in a large, expensively decorated room and started to panic. Where was I? Where was Blueo!?

I broke away from the maid and ran to the other side of the room, the woman followed me and I turned around so I was facing her and held my arms in front of me. I didn't see anything I could use for a weapon, hopefully I wouldn't need one.

"Your majesty, please calm down," the woman said. I was confused and decided to ignore her.

"Where am I? Where is Blueo?" She was still inching closer and I practically screeched, "Don't come any closer!"

She stopped in her tracks and I heard who sounded like Blueo say "I heard my name?" Before she could respond. I immediately shouted "Hello! where are you!? Get me out of here!"

I didn't even look at the maid as I looked around again, trying to see if I could see Blueo. Where was he?

"What do you think I'm trying to do?"

I sighed. "I'm sorry, okay? It's just I'm a princess and I don't want to be, and I'm panicking!"

"Okay, calm down. First I probably need to know how many timelines we moved..."

I did not have any clue what he just said, so I replied with, "Yeah me neither. Now how do we get out of here?"

"Easy, I just need to get you out of that castle!"

"How? There are guards."

"I'll just scare them with future stuff!"

"I-" I thought Blueo's plan over. Future stuff in the 14th Century era might actually work... "I guess it's worth a try. But where are you?"

"Uhh..."

I visually face palmed. "I need to know where you are Blueo,"

"In a tree,"

Wait... So he was outside? "How can I hear you right now? Am I friends with a creep!?"

"No, it's more time stuff! I'll explain later!" He said and I nodded momentarily, but as I nodded my gaze fell back on the necklace and I was back in a trance.

Blueo's POV

"Ember?" I asked when she didn't respond. I received no response and sighed, going up to the castle and climbing to her window. I knocked and looked inside, Ember's gaze was back on the necklace. Oh great.

I tried knocking again and the window opened even though Ember didn't move. I saw the maid had opened it.

"Hello? Who are you?" She asked.

"It doesn't matter, but the princess isn't actually the princess and I need to get her out of this time period and back into her own." I said, praying it worked.

She looked confused but seemed to understand that I needed the "princess" and let me in. I walked over to Ember and waved my hand in front of her face, with no response. I tried again with still no response.

At this point I was getting frustrated and I grabbed the necklace and smashed it on the ground. She seemed to snap out of it and gasped. "Blueo!"

I grabbed her wrist and pulled her out of the castle, we ran through and avoided the guards til we made it to town. I noticed a boy who looked to be 14-years old, but his clothes were from even after Ember's time period.

He looked up and I saw that he seemed to be eating bread. When he saw us his face formed one of disgust and I could almost feel Ember glare at him, and he seemed to be glaring back at her. "How are you here?" He asked.
