I looked up. "Metropolitan Museum of the Arts." I groaned. "Am I going to have to steal again?"

Annabeth's head whipped around so fast I'm surprised she didn't get whiplash. "What do you mean, again?" I smiled sheepishly. Not giving her an explanation I walked in. Passing by the long lines I cut in front of a pot bellied man with a girl with short brown hair, a green dress, yellow leggings, red high tops, and sassy cat eye glasses.

"Hey!" The girl yelled.

"It's totally fine Meg." The guy said. I looked him in the eye and he stared back. There was something about him that I didn't like. As if he knew that I knew I wasn't supposed to be here. "I'm sure he has a good reason for being on this side of the river." He gave me an even harder look. "Am I right kid?"

"Yes. Please excuse me. I'll leave as soon as possible." He nodded. I handed the ticket guy a blank slip of paper. He checked it, gave a satisfied nod, stamped it and passed it back to me. Annabeth scrunched up her eyebrows, but didn't say anything.

After we passed through Annabeth asked me what I did. "Oh," I said. "I just used a simple glamour."

"Glamour?" Annabeth asked.

"Yeah. It's a sort of spell. It confounds anyone the spell is cast on. Makes it easier to pass through things, it also makes them see whatever the caster wants. Like a plane or entrance ticket."

"We have something like that. We call it The Mist. It's like a drape that separates the demigod world from the mortal world. Only certain people can do it because it's so difficult."

We turned a corner and ended up in the Egyptian section of the museum. "What type of jewelry are we looking for?" I asked.

Annabeth produced a rolled up piece of paper and stared at the drawing. "Um, it's a ring." She passed me the paper. My eyes widened in shock. "I know that ring! My uncle Amos had one just like it."

I fished out my phone and scrolled through my camera roll. Finally, I found it. I zoomed into the picture of Amos, one arm dangling over my shoulder and the other on Sadie's waist. On his right hand was the exact same ring as drawn in the picture. Annabeth peered over my shoulder saying "It could be a copy." I shook my head.

"It was one of the few things we couldn't touch. He never gave an explanation, he just said that when the time was right the owl would retrieve it with the falcon." Then it hit me like a ton of bricks. "Oh." Annabeth and I said at the same time.

"We're going to the First Nome." I said.

"Where's that?" Annabeth asked.

"Alexandria Egypt."
