Carter's P.O.V.

"Why is a dream so important? It's just a dream." I asked.
Annabeth looked me in the eye and her eyes seemed to turn darker. Like storm clouds on the sea. "It was about Sadie."
I furrowed my brow. "Why would you have a dream about my sister?"
"It's a demi-god thing. Now shut up and let me explain. I can only remember little snippets though so don't get too excited." I nodded. "In my dream I was on some sort of beach, except there was no ocean. The sand was red instead of white or even black. And then out of nowhere this sudden pillar of white light erupted into the sky. And there in its place once the light subsided was this crystal. When I went to check it out I saw Sadie lying in this sort of casket. Her hair was white, and her skin so pale. And there was this blue aura around her. That's when the monsters came."

"Hold on, monsters?"
"Yes, but they were strange monsters. Something that a kindergartner would have made in art class. One had butterfly wings, the feet of a human and the body of a key. It was trying to break the casket. But each time it connected this golden hieroglyph would burn on Sadie's forehead. And it would get thrown back."
I took a big slurp of my strawberry milkshake, then brought out a stylus and a piece of papyrus from my magician's bag. "Can you try and draw the hieroglyph you saw on Sadie's forehead?" Annabeth nodded. Just as I thought she drew the hieroglyphs for 'ultimate protection'. "What does it mean?" Annabeth asked. "Ultimate protection." I mumbled.
Annabeth's head popped up all the sudden, startling me. "What?" I asked.
"Carter, why is it so quiet in here?"
I looked around, everyone in the room was standing and facing the door, where a man was standing in front of the door.
He looked like the tough guy from a gangster movie. Tall, buff, and scarred. "Ares." Annabeth said. "Ares? As in Greek god of war?"
"Do you know of another Ares that stinks like a pig?"
"Well, you would be surprised. He may stink like a pig but his name ain't Ares"
Annabeth turned to the man and slightly inclined her head. "Lord Ares."
He sat down, and everyone sat down after him and went back to enjoying their meal. He sat next to Annabeth and scooted over to my side of the table. His aura was so powerful it seemed to come off in torrents. "Annabeth," he looked at me, "Who's this retard?" That made me mad, and before I got the chance to snap back at him he continued. "I got a little quest for-"
"-No." Annabeth interrupted.
"Come on Doll, it's easy."
"I said, no."
Ares harrumphed.
"Well then I won't tell you're little friend where his sister is." he smirked.
"What do you need?"
"We don't need your help" Annabeth and I said at the same time. We looked at each other in surprise. "We'll need his help." Annabeth said. "No we don't," I snapped back at her. "I know someone who will be able to find her easy."
"Really? How come you haven't gotten them yet?"
"They are kinda hard to get in communications with at the moment." Annabeth squinted her grey eyes at me. "What do you mean?" She asked.
"Well, their gods."
Annabeth rubbed her eyes. When she pulled her hands away she looked older, wearier, more tired. Like she's had enough of people disappearing, or taking any BS from the gods. I could tell, she was so done. "Let's just do whatever the god asks okay?" Annabeth said. "Fine," I grumbled.
He gave us a set of instructions to find some sort of jewelry.
"Why would the god of war want a little piece of jewelry?" I asked Annabeth.
"It's probably for Aphrodite. His girlfriend." She added after my confused look.
"But, isn't Hephaestus Aphrodite's husband?"
"Yes," Annabeth said simply.
I shook my head. "That is so weird."
Annabeth looked at me shrewdly. "What about you mister? Horus and Isis were once brother and sister, then lovers, then mother and son, and now with you and Sadie, they are brother and sister again." I only shrugged.
Annabeth stopped. "We're here."
A/N: I am so sorry I haven't updated! I have reasons!
1: I just found out my dad has cancer.
2: I've been trying to get a job. (To no avail)
3: I'm kinda in a bad place mentally and it takes a lot of my creativity away.
Thank you if you actually read my reasons.
