Eliza's POV
I love teaching Phillip piano and french, he's getting really good at counting his numbers. He also writes poetry! I'm so proud of him and I know his father is too. Alexander has a lot of to do, but it is heartbreaking not being able to spend much time with him, and the kids miss him, I do hope he will take a break and run away with us for the summer to go upstate, we'll all go stay with my father. There is a lake I know in a nearby park, Alexander and I can go when the night gets dark. I call Alexander down for supper where Phillip will perform one of his poems for his father to show how well he is progressing.
'My name is Philip
I am a poet, I wrote this poem just to show it
And I just turned nine
You can write rhymes but you can't write mine
I practice French and play piano with my mother
I have a sister, but I want a little brother
My daddy's trying to start America's bank
Un deux trois quatre cinq!'Alexander looked so proud of his son. After that, we had supper, and him and I talked about going away for the summer. He said he had so much work to do that he couldn't. It was a shame, I really wanted him to come with us. I begged him to run away with us for the summer and go upstate to see my father. He insisted he had too much work to do. I told him all about the lake, in the park that we could go to after the children had been put to bed, but he was still set on staying home.
Angelica was arriving today and I couldn't wait to see her! Maybe she could help convince Alexander to come with us. I saw her walking up the street with her suitcase and I shouted up to Alexander informing him of Angelica's arrival. I ran to open the door and gave her a hug. My sister, I love her more than anything in this life.
"Angelica!" I shouted.
"Eliza!" She shouted back.
We were so happy to finally see each other again. Alexander then finally got up from his desk and walked to us.
"The Schuyler Sisters."
"Alexander..." My sister said softly, to which my husband's response was an awkward-sounding hi. I wish he didn't get so awkward around her, I know they used to like each other. I see how he looks at my sister.
I explained to Angelica about Alex's work and how he won't leave it to come upstate with us. She was so disappointed, John Adams spends the summer with his family. Alex's response to that was 'John Adams doesn't have a real job anyway'. Angelica was distraught to know she came all this way to see us and Alex wasn't coming. In the end, the children and I left Alexander at home to work while we went with Angelica to go and visit our father. He waved us off from the door at least. I really wish he could have taken a break and run away with us for the summer.
Hamilton's POV
When Angelica showed up, it hurt to tell her I wasn't going. When I was first talking to her today, I got awkward and I could tell Eliza noticed. I really was unhappy because I couldn't join them go upstate, especially after how proud I was of Phillip and how well his learning is coming on. I really did need a break, however, the United States isn't going to build itself.
I have so much work to do.
•Okay Ik i publishes this not long after the first one but I had such good ideas I had to get them down please let me know if I can improve or not on my insta @mariareynolds1768 •
