Catching up

You were in complete shock, 'was he really standing in your house!' You thought to yourself as everyone just stared at the scene before them.
" Barry, w-what are you doing here?"
You asked fully well knowing that, one of the friends Oliver called was Barry, obviously, but had to ask anyways.

"I'm co-workers with Caitlin." He responded almost instantly, like he was defending himself from an accusation.

"Wait, I thought you were studying to be a forensic scientist." You stated more as a question, still kinda confused on what was going on. You looked around the room to make sure this was real and someone wasn't playing a prank on you, but Caitlin and Oliver's facial expressions were laced with confusion as well. You turn your head to the right and see your sister also in shock, obviously in a mental battle with herself on whether to speak up and ask what was happening. After a few seconds she gave a defeated look and took the silent moment to turn and slip into your room and probably ask her questions later.

" I am, I work at CCPD, but I help out at star labs sometim-." Barry was cut off by a extremely confused Oliver.

" How do you guys know each other?" You and Barry share a look and he immediately speaks up.

"We were friends in collage. Well umm more than friends."

Caitlin looked wide-eyed as she looked between me and Barry, but she quickly composed herself when she saw you looking at her " umm- hate to break up the Reunion, but I should probably do my job." She walked over to the couch and sat down with a box of equipment, you didn't even realize she was holding. You followed soon after and sat right next to her. Barry and Oliver walked outside to talk about god knows what.

After about ten minutes of small chat and a couple of needles being poked in your arm to draw blood. She finally was done and packed up the equipment she took out of the box, just in time for Barry and Oliver to come back in the living room. Weirdly you haven't seen your sister since she went back in her room, but you figured you could talk to her after everyone got out of your house.

Barry brought you out of your thoughts with him clearing his throat. You realized that while you were deep in thought, staring at your table in your living room, Caitlin left and so did Oliver. You were left alone with Barry.
"Oh- hey, sorry, I was just thinking." He gave a soft laugh. Weirdly, feeling a little embarrassed.

" I was just wondering if you wanted to grab some coffee to catch up." You wanted to say no and go to sleep but you didn't want to be rude.

" um-sure, although don't expect me to change." You said with a smile. He nodded.

"Never expected you to." He said with amusement in his eyes. You quickly went into the kitchen and got your purse and headed for the door. When you got outside with Barry close behind you, Oliver and Caitlin were talking by a van with the words S.T.A.R labs on it, in which from the awkward conversation earlier, you realized, Barry and Caitlin came in. You walked over to them without a second thought, wondering what they were talking about.

" Hey, sorry I was just informing Oliver that your blood results will take 4 or 5 days to get back to you." Caitlin said with a smile. You smiled back warmly and thanked her for coming. She got in the van and left after Barry explained to her that he was going to get coffee with you. Oliver took the hint to leave too, so you guys could go.

You didn't know where your car was so you just texted Chloe that you were going to borrow her car, she's probably not going to be happy but if you go ahead and take it, she can't really do anything about it. You hopped in the passenger side door as Barry looks at you with a confused look on his face.
