When I opened the door, a flash of light streaked across my field of view. The blue sky that greeted us when we first arrived was now a misty mix of mahogany and black smoke. This cloud was directly overhead and seemed to spreading across the sky slowly.

As I looked harder at the cloud, there were fat black and red drops coming down from it. They didn't appear to be rain drops though. Though they were hard to see from where I was, those drops appeared to be thick. They were a muddy blackish red color and literally looked like drops of blood; it was as if the cloud was bleeding honestly. But before the drops could fully hit the ground, that beaming dazzling light would strike them, and they would disperse into mini puffs of smoke and fade away.

Ven placed his hand on my chest and pushed me back. "Stay back Blade." "What's with that cloud?" "The hantens. They've found us." Ace said summoning his revolver. "Hand-whats?" "Hantens. They are creatures of Discord. They spawn wherever Discord tells them to, or wherever his henchmen say. They are hard to describe. They usually spawn in as weaklings that die after being slashed once, but Discord doesn't seem to have a limit on how many they can summon; they summon tens and hundreds of them at a time. Though they are all weak, they can easily tire you out and overwhelm you. To make matters worse, sometimes Discord will summon massive ones that are difficult to deal with. They are 50x more powerful than the little ones that come and it can take 2-3 people to take one out." Ven said keeping his eyes on the cloud overhead.

"The good news is that I don't think we have to worry about one of those big guys coming. We do need to help with getting rid of this cloud though." Ace said getting into a stance.

"What's with that white light?" I asked them.

"Oh isn't that obvious?" Ven asked nonchalantly. "No...it's not." I kind of whispered back. "That's your mom doofus." Ace said pointing his gun into the air.

I was speechless. "What - really?" I looked more intently and tried to focus my eyes more on the light. Though it was moving blindingly fast, I caught a glimpse of the person inside of the light. Sure enough, there was my mom. Her hair was pulled back into a pony-tail and she had a camo outfit on. Her shoes were glowing a hot white color, and I noticed that everytime she got near one of those drops, she would extend her leg and kick through them. I remember her telling us that her weapon were her shoes, but seeing them in action like this was insane.

She landed on the roof of the house and jumped down to where we were.

"Sorry if the commotion woke you guys up." She said as she dusted off her pants.

"No Ms. West, my alarm woke us up." Ven said. "How long have you been out here fighting? I was just talking with you in the living room like a hour ago." "It's been about a good 10 minutes. I knew they were coming when I was looking out of the window. I didn't know when they would come, but I knew they were coming." "Why didn't you come and get us? We could've been out here helping you!" "Nonsense." She said as she tightened up her pony. "You will need your strength when you start traveling to Aveila; let me handle this fight."

"Now you know we can't do that." Ace said walking up to us. "I've been itching for a good fight." "Same here. It'll be quicker if you let us assist you instead of you soloing them." Ven added. She looked displeased with our response.

After a few seconds she said, "Well honey, do you want some experience fighting these creatures? I'm sure you've never even seen them, let alone fighting one." "Of course I haven't, but I'd love to see you fight up close and personal. I still haven't seen you fight!" She rolled her eyes. "Of course you do. Jeez. Hot-blooded son of mine. Well, get ready! They're not stopping anytime soon!"
