An obstacle course. That was the first event.

Not too bad, except for the fact that there was no rule against attacking each other. They could do whatever they wanted as long as they stayed within bounds.

They were all within a small room, up until the giant doors opened. The second they opened, Todoroki had froze them all to the ground, and began skating off on the ice. Most of class 1-A and some of class 1-B managed to get free, and charged after him. Bakugou used his explosions to propell himself forwards, easily keeping up with Todoroki.

Izuku ran as fast as he could, not able to do much else at the moment. Iida was following not to far behind Todoroki and Bakugou, with his engines. That annoyed Bakugou. He wanted to win, and prove that he was better than these losers!!

After awhile of running, they encountered a bunch of giant robots. Bakugou flew over them with his explosions, while Todoroki froze them solid. The other students ran under the robots, and Todoroki smirked. Just then, the robots fell over, crashing down on them. Without second thoughts, they all ran away from the tumbling giants. Except for Kirishima and Tetsutetsu, who popped out of the collasped robots relatively unharmed. "Hey, your power is like mine!!" both of them said simutantiously.

"Todoroki-kun could've killed us..." Izuku mumbled, shuddering.

They ran through the wreckage of the robots, passing the obstacle much easier than they would've before.

Izuku grabbed up a piece of the robot's armor, in hopes of using it as a shield.

Soon after, they found themselves in front of a large trench.

The trench had some bars above it, which would allow for them to cross.

Aoyoma went to cross it using his belly button laser to fly over it, but he got blasted by hot water. That was definitely discouraging for some. However, they still needed to pass the obstacle...

Todoroki skated across with ease, using the poles for a frame for his ice. Bakugou flew over it with his explosions, dodging the bursts of water. For everyone else, it was an imposible game of balancing.

Izuku gripped onto the poles, the pads on his hands making it easier for him to hold on. His tentacles wrapped around his make-shift shield, and he used the radar created by his antenna in order to sense where the water blasts would come up next.

By the time Izuku had finally crossed, Todoroki and Bakugou were long gone.

The group continued running, until they came across what looked to be a normal field.

Well, looks can be deciving.

Someone ran up into the field, only to be knocked back by a burst of purple smoke. "It's a mine field!! No way are we getting across that!!" Yelled another.

Never the less, the group went in, able to see the outlines of the mines.

Izuku stayed near the edge of the minefield, analysing the situation. He knew for a fact that he wasn't nearly fast enough to get through the minefield, and the mines weren't much of a help. As much as Izuku really didn't want to participate, he didn't want to disappoint his friends and mom either.

He ajustted his tentecles' grip on the metal plate, before coming up with an admitably reckless idea. He shifted the plate into his hands, and began digging at the ground with it.

Meanwhile, Todoroki and Bakugou were still neck and neck, fighting for first. This had been going on for some time, before a huge explosion of purple appeared at the start of the mine field.

Izuku came flying out of the cloud at the speed of a bullet, holding the shield underneath of him.

"WHAT IS HE DOING?!"

"He could get hurt like that!!"

"Is he crazy?!"

"He's not crazy, he's just Midoriya-kun"

"What does that even mean Shinsou?"

"It means he's reckless"

Izuku ignored them, realizing that he was losing momentum. At this rate, he would hit the ground before he made it to the finish line!!

He looked around at the ground, before nodding. He'd have to perfectly calculate the trajectory, but if it worked, he should be able to get past the mine field.

Not yet...

He was getting closer to Bakugou and Todoroki.

Not yet....

He was right inbetween them now.

NOW!!!

He slammed the make-shift shield onto the ground, landing it directly onto one of the mines. The explosion sent him flying forwards, way ahead of Todoroki and Bakugou. He let go of the sheild, and tumbled through the air, until he landed, just past the edge of the minefield. He landed in a roll, and used a fluid motion to stand up again, and started running..

...He broke through the finish line

"Izuku Midoriya won the first round!!!"

Izuku gave a shaky grin. He did it!!! He actually did it!!

A small part of him felt as if he didn't deserve it, and only got lucky.

A/N

The ending was really fun to write, for some reason. I'm happy with how it turned out!
