Chapter 9

The next morning I realized I'd been kinda hard on Draco, plus I missed him. I wanted to find him to hear him out. I opened the door to my room to go find Draco in the common room but he beat me to it. He was standing there at my door with a rose in his hand.
"Hey...can we please talk?" He asked sheepishly. I smiled at him and gave him a hug. He got me a rose. Like my scar.
Draco pulled me into his chest and held me tightly.
"I'm really sorry y/n." he said in my ear.
"Hey it's okay. You're the schools bad boy,  I get it." I said into his. I pulled away softly and held his face, looking into his grey eyes. They looked really sad for some reason. He was smiling, so that was weird.
"Are you okay?" I asked.
He nodded,
"I am now." He said smirking.
His smirk looked a lot like Tom Riddles.
"Hey do you know anyone named Tom Riddle?" I asked.
Draco shrugged, "Name sounds familiar. Maybe he was a student here. Why?"
I didn't want to worry Draco so I decided not to tell him.
"I just heard the name somewhere and was wondering who he was." I said.
Draco raised his eyebrows at me and said, "Well I hope you don't fancy this Tom Riddle." I started smiling.
"Is Draco Malfoy jealous?" I teased.
"I think he is." Draco said.
"Well he has no reason to be" I said smiling. Draco looked into my eyes for a long time and finally said,
"I think we should date."
I felt my eyes get bigger and then I laughed nervously.
"Draco you are aware we met like 3 days ago, right?" I asked.
"I know. It's just I like you y/n and I just now realized that anyone could be with you. But if we were together, they couldn't." He replied.
I smiled at him and said,
"You're right. Just like any girl could be with you. Which is why I think we should make a pact."
"What kind of pact?" Draco asked smiling.
"Well, that we will not date or flirt with anyone else but eachother. Except, we won't be dating. We won't date until we get to know eachother better." I said.
"Good idea, and I know the perfect way to seal our pact." Draco said as he leaned in and kissed me on my lips. I hesitated and pulled away softly.
"Draco..." i said.
He touched my face and slipped the rose into my hand and said, "I'll wait for you for as long as it takes."
He turned around and walked out of the common room leaving me there speechless and confused with my feelings.
I stood there for a moment trying to wrap my head around what had just happened. We made a pact. Does that mean it would be bad if I saw Tom Riddle again? I mean I didn't really have a choice. He just appears. I didn't want to see him again. He was bad, and I liked Draco. Plus I had no idea who he was. After I got over what happened between me and Draco, I slowly started walking out of the common room. Right outside was Harry, waiting for me with a big grin. I smiled and walked up to him.
"Hey y/n." He said as he hugged me. I hadn't realized how much I missed my brother. I really wished we were in the same house at that moment. I talked to Harry about everything, and right now I was keeping so much from him. My eyes started watering as Harry pulled me away from him and looked at me. His face was suddenly full of concern.
"Woah hey, what's wrong?" He asked as he wiped away a tear. I put on a smile and said,
"I just miss you, that's all." Harry looked really sad.
"Trust me y/n, I miss you more. I wanted to sneak out last night just so we could have time to talk." Harry said.
I smiled at him and said,
"I'm glad you didn't. That's a serious rule breaking." He laughed and then I did. I missed Harry's laugh.
"Come on, let's go down to breakfast, maybe we can sneak you to the Gryffindor table" Harry said with a smirk. I laughed and started walking with him. Even though I was wearing Slytherin robes, I blended in at the Gryffindor table quite well. I caught a glance at Draco and he was raising his eyebrows at me. I smirked and looked away. I was having far too much fun with Harry and his two friends Hermione and Ron, who were now my friends. We were all laughing and having a great time, when a bunch of owls came flying in.
"Oh! Mails here!" Ron said with a mouthful of sausage. I silently laughed at him.
Winston came down with Hedwig and they were both carrying something long. Another owl had given Ron letters and a newspaper.
"Can I read that?" Harry said to Ron as he pointed at the newspaper.
Ron nodded and handed the newspaper to Harry. My brother put the paper to the side as Hedwig and Winston brought down the big long package. Harry looked at it excitedly. The name tag on it read "for Harry Potter." I smiled at my brother and said "Well open it." He smiled back and ripped off the packaging.
"It's a broomstick!" Harry said.
Ron looked like he had seen Merlin walk into the dining hall and said, "Not just any broomstick Harry. That's a Nimbus 2000! I wonder who it's from!"
Harry started looking around and caught McGonagall starting at him, grinning. She nodded at him and smiled. I looked at my brother and said,
"A seeker. I'm so proud of you Harry." I smiled at him and he smiled back. We started eating again and Harry started reading the newspaper Ron had given him.
"Hey you guys, something was stolen from Gringotts. From vault 713." Harry said. I started thinking about the day we went to Gringotts. We had gone to vault....
"Hey isn't that the vault Hagrid took us to?" I asked.
"Yeah it is. It says here that the goblins insist that nothing was taken. y/n do you remember when Hagrid took that rock thing out of the vault? He said that it was top secret Hogwarts business. That it was for Dumbledore." Harry asked. I did remember. I didn't really think much of it then, mainly because I was excited about attending Hogwarts.
"Yeah I do. Do you think that's what was stolen?" I said.
"I don't know, but I think that it could be." Harry said.
