Last week, (Monday, 8:27 p.m.)
"Lark, you have to come! It won't be the same without you!" Jake pleaded to me over the phone.
"No, I don't feel like going to some deserted island." Jake was trying to convince me to go with him and his family to this island, which is literally in the middle of the ocean.
"Oh, come on man!" Jake yelled at me in disappointment.
"Dude, you know that all I would do is complain." I tried again to weasel my way out. By this time the sun was setting on the horizon, another day of the short precious summer was coming to an end. I sat on the edge of my bed with my phone to my ear.
"PLEAAAA-" Annoyed and tired I shut my phone and plopped it on the bed beside me. With a long sigh, I slid down to the floor, leaning against my bed.
Not a moment later I heard a buzzing on my bed, I almost reached for my vibrating phone to see who it was when I realized it was probably just Jake calling me back to plead some more. I closed my eyes for what was meant to be a brief moment, but I ended up passing out right there on the floor.
A valley was full of tall grass. The occasional flower sprinkled amongst the yellow-green grass. The sky was as blue as ever and the mountains could be seen clearly on the horizon. It was bright and sunny yet the sun was nowhere to be seen in the sky. I swiveled in place, taking it all in. A shallow breeze wafted through causing the grass to sway slightly and my hair to flow. I began to walk around in wonder. I found myself unable to speak and my thoughts were rendered useless. Suddenly I heard a noise. It sounded like loud footsteps coming up a flight of wooden stairs. I turned around to find a girl standing in the distance. Only 15 feet away yet I couldn't call out to her. I began to walk towards her, her back was to me. I heard her call my name, she called louder and louder the closer I got. Confused because I didn't recognize her I felt the need to rush to her side. I began to run and suddenly stepped into something wet. I looked down to find that the grass was in water now. Peering through the grass the girl appeared to be standing on top of the water. I felt something welling up inside me, I opened my mouth and a shout echoed throughout the valley. The girl began to turn around when gallons of water fell from the sky and soaked me. My eyes fluttered open fast as I sat up, once again in my room.
