(Sunday, 10:17 a.m.)

We may have slept in a tad longer than any of us had expected. But you'll be glad to know that we all woke up at the same time, thanks to the sound of what we can only assume to be a fork in the garbage disposal!

"What in the world of squirrels and peanut butter is that noise!" Jake shouted as he rose from his bed like a zombie, or a mummy, wrapped in blankets instead of bandages or cloth strips.

"What in the world of squirrels and peanut butter was that sentence?" Kylee said half laughing and half ready to kill whatever woke her.

"Alright, I suppose that's our call for breakfast today!" I said trying to act cheerful when I was really dreading the bean sprouts and lima beans I suspected to be waiting for us.

None of us bothered to get dressed, we just slumped down the stairs, ready to kill that god awful noise. Looking like zombies we stumbled off the last stair and into our seats at the table. Shortly after, Jake's mom rushed in with a bright and cheery smile.

"Good morning sleep bugs! I made you all a nutritious breakfast!" Those were the words I was truly afraid of, but what she brought out looked so delicious I couldn't stop myself from downing it. It was a smoothie with buttered toast. A light and simple meal to get you ready for the day and throw some pep in your step, which was clearly needed today.

Right after breakfast, without a word we all got to work, with getting ourselves ready, which we managed to accomplish in a mere ten minutes. Which is a personal record for us three combined. We grabbed our packs and were all ready to bust out the front door when we were stopped this time by Jake's dad.

"So I refilled the lawnmower out there with gas and I cleaned out the fire pit, also be careful, the animals this morning are acting strange, so be mindful over everything around you and if things don't seem right be sure to come back to the house. Also please don't play around with the tools in the shed, you can use a couple if you want but be careful!" He took a breath realizing that we're kids and we probably won't listen to what he says anyway. "Alright, I'm done, you're free to go now!" He shook his hands and shooed us out the door.

"Guess what time it is!" Time for me to get a bad feeling immediately? You guessed it! How did you know that Jake? Oh, I'm wrong? What time is it? "Time to go check out that cellar!" Jake said fisting the air above him.

"Your dad just asked us not to play around in there though," I said looking to Kylee for backup.

"Yeah, but he knows we're going to go and do it anyway!" Jake said starting around the house, headed for the backyard. With a sigh, I followed with Kylee.

The door was open to the shed when we got there, the lawnmower still out of it. I helped Jake move the chainsaw out of the way and got the keys out of my bag for him to try. He tried every key but none of them worked. Slightly glad I tried to take the keys back when he freaked out.

"No! It has to be one of these!" He clutched them tight and tried them again but none worked. "Then it has to be in here somewhere! Guys, help me look for it!" Never having seen him so frantic for something as stupid as a key before, we helped him. Kylee ended up finding an old box of some sort.

"Is this anything important?" She looked at Jake and he seemed to be clueless. So they tried the keys on the box, and what do you know, it worked! "AAAAHHH!" Kylee flipped out and threw the box to the ground, breaking it.

"What's wrong? What was in it!?" I rushed to her side while Jake lifted the box up to find...

"It's a nasty old tooth! Oh, and a key!" He quickly picked up the key and went over to the chained doors in the ground. The key fit perfectly, with one twist the chains fell loose. "It worked! It worked It worked It worked!!" Jake shouted while dancing around in a circle. "Are you two ready to see what's down here?" He pulled the chain out from the handles and was ready to open them.
