(Friday, 7:22 a.m.)

Surprisingly, I wasn't the first one up. When I woke up, I found Kylee sitting next to the side of my bed, on the floor, leaned up against the wall. She held the remote in her hand and stared at the TV which could barely be heard. She must have noticed my gaze because she turned towards me and smiled. She sat forward a bit and reached up to me. Her hand ran through my hair that stuck up at random, in every direction. She then returned to watching what looked to be the news. How practical. I thought to myself.

I sat up, causing the lump next to me to move slightly. Jake had his head on the nightstand, the sheet was wrapped around him in an unnatural way, and he looked as if he were balanced just so on the corner of the mattress as half of his body hung off. I pushed the blanket back with my feet and carefully got out of bed. I tiptoed over to the bathroom so I could do my business. When I came back, Jake had vanished from the bed. I walked around to find his arm around Kylee and him whispering to her quietly. Kylee looked startled when she saw me. She quickly moved out of Jake's grasp and stood up, walking past me with her eyes glued to the ground. Unsure of what I had witnessed, thoughts raced through my head. I had decided that I was angry. I plopped down next to Jake and angrily whispered at him.

"What the hell were you doing? I thought you were all gung ho on me finally getting together with her this year!?" I felt my brow furrow.

"What? No! It wasn't like that! I was persuading her! I swear! it wasn't anything bad!" He said looking pretty honest for once.

"Then why did she react like that when she saw me?" I asked still a bit angry.

"Maybe she was embarrassed? I don't know. She's always talking about you, and asking about you, like about when she's not around and how you act around other girls." He looked as if he had a lot more to say, but I was done listening. I made up my mind that I would believe him, that I wasn't mad, and that if it really bothered me, that I'd talk with Kylee about it. I mean, we weren't dating, and she didn't show any interest in Jake like that, but if I couldn't even tell how she felt about me how could I tell how she felt about someone else?

I got up and made sure my bags were all packed. I placed them all in a pile and Kylee did the same. Jake followed suit after watching us.

Once Jake's parents were up and moving around, this was around 9 something, we piled back into the car. We stopped at a fast food place for breakfast, and ate it on the way, while in the car. Which was not the best idea considering we three can get pretty rowdy in that little backseat. Elbows were flying, as well as syrup and bits of pancake, seeing as we all ordered the same thing, a plate of pancakes with hash browns and orange juice. Of course, there was the debate over who needs how much syrup and who gets the greasy potato patty. By the end of breakfast, we could be snacking off the walls.

Luckily, we weren't that far from the fairy, so once we had finished breakfast, we were already driving onto the boat. Once on board, in the correct place, we all got out of the car for our hour long sea journey. Even though the island we were going to was going to have no one else on it, the fairy was packed full of other people. Immediately after getting out of the car, Jake and I raced up the stairs. Once at the top, Kylee gave us a full lecture about disturbing other passengers.

"Really? Are you two five years old? How could you possibly think running up a flight of stairs, making a bunch of racket as you push each other is even remotely acceptable in an environment like this? We may be headed to a deserted island, but we're not there yet!" I'll spare you the rest, you get the idea. "You two need to be respectful." She grabbed us by the arms and lead us to an area with rows of seats. She plopped down in one of the seats and yanked us so we'd fall back down into ours. Sitting on either side of her, we stared out at the ocean and felt the boat shift with the waves.
