Atlas: "Humanity is a spark that makes us whole....but they scuffed it out with a perfect darkness"

I was was sitting on the top of my containment unit, looking out at the sea of Imperfects. There were so many of us, some barely function and other smiling, though fake happiness radiated off them. I sighed and laid back, staring up at the black ceiling which had pipes running threw it then disappeared either into the ceiling agian or the wall. The alarm went off letting us know that we had more comings.

"Atlas!" Charles called out and I quickly jumped down,

"Oh, there you are" He smiled softly,

We soon took off towards the entrance. The robot had about two adults (an african american male along with an asian female), a child which seemed like a mix of the two adult and another figure but their hood covered their face. The ropes were cut from them and the two adults quickly scooped the child into their arms,

"Hmm, a family...multi-cultural it would seem" Charles spoke and inspected them,

I walked close to the figure yet they backed away from me but the robots noticed and pushed them to the ground,

"Come on...let's get you away from these metallic freaks" I whispered and grabbed their arm only to feel a harsh pain on my cheek,

I back away and held the cheek that had been punched,

"D-Don't touch me!" The figure yelled out and held were I had grabbed them,

"Atlas" Charles spoke and I looked over at him, his fingers grazing over my cheek,

"Names?" I asked as he scanned my face for any other injures since he was also the caring type towards others,

"The tattoo say 3m1ly or Emily, K4yn3, or Kayne and the child is V10l3t or Violet" He told me, moving his hand away from my face and looked over at the figure,

They were hugging themselves and kept their head down,

"We aren't gonna hurt you, we're people, just like you" Charles spoke in that voice, that one voice that could calm even the fierce of bears and the angriest of tigers.

The figure looked up slightly before pulling up their sleeve and revealed their tattoo, L1nk or Link.

"Link...quite unique might I say" Charles smiled and the figure only shifted before Charles helped them off the ground.

I walked over and the figure looked at me,

"Please apologise to my friend here, she was just trying to help you, none of us plan to hurt those alike us" Charles asked softly to them as they pulled their arm away from Charles,

"I....I'm sorry...I just don't like being touched" They spoke before pulling their hood down, the crowd of people soon fading off once the excitement and curiosity died,

Charles soon took the small family and showed them an empty containment unit which would become their new home. I had Link followed me to a containment unit,

"How do you live down here...it's so dark and smells like death" Link asked me as they walked beside me, fumbling with the sleeves of their hoodie,

I shrugged my shoulders,

"Unfortunately, you end up getting use to it" I sighed softly,

They pulled off their hoodie and I finally saw their face, they had chestnut brown pixie hair cute with the sides and back shaved, their eyes were a deep green but what got my attention the most was their skin, they had patches of lighter skin coating their original olive skin tone.

"Yeah...that one of my Imperfections...Vitiligo" They sighed, they were obviously a boy but I didn't want to assume pro-nouns just yet.

"Your...er..what do you...identify as?" I asked awkwardly but that seemed to assume them,

"I'm a boy, but my pronouns he/them or his/they though" He replied with a small chuckle.
