"WHAT!!!! How the hell did that happen?. There are over a hundred supernaturals present and all of our men are armed with weapons!" Judah barked at the man

"I..I.."

"SPEAK!!!!"

"I don't know they....they just appeared at night slipped right in past our guards and everything" He stuttered

"They had help" Torra commented stating what we all were silently thinking 

Judah's face twisted into even further rage 

Who would dare betray us?!! He snarled

"The prisoner, Murkan obviously. He told us where Ayla's was so he could get us to leave, this mission was a distraction he knew Ayla was no longer here" I explained

"We need to get back!"

"NO!!..There is no point. They are already gone. We need to keep searching for Ayla, then we will go after them"

Judah looked offended

"They took my mother!!" he snapped

"Yes and Ayla is your sister is she not?!" I countered 

His anger melted slightly and his eyes softened. He said nothing but the guilt was evident in his gaze as he turned to the male

"Tell Anon when i return we will have words. I need to revaluate whether he is still competent enough to hold the position of my second" His anger was clear with the bite in his tone and stance as he spat the words

"Yes sir" the male replied before he rode off back towards their territory  the way he came

The camp was quiet that night. There was no laughter or jeering.

No drunken heckling beside the fireside, In fact no one spoke. The nocturnal animals were the only ones to  fill the silent air this night with their chatter. Everyone sat through supper lost in thought and burdened with emotion. The obvious conflicted feelings between us all had the tension as thick as the fog currently rolling in

"Do you think Ayla will truly be alright once we find her?" Helia asked as she took a seat beside me

"No. Ayla will never truly be alright after all she had endured. But she will be herself again. That i vow"

"How can you be so confident about that?"

"Because i will accept nothing less" i growled

She smiled at my response before falling quiet

"If you sense any minds lingering in our vicinity let us know immediately goodnight" I told her as I stood to retire for the night.

I laid quietly upon my sleeping mat staring up at the sky. Willing myself to sleep. Finally just as the last embers of the fires burned away i was drifting off

 She died as I witnessed the three panther shifters that suddenly charged into the camp and began killing our  men;  Emil swiftly transformed and charged at them

I  snapped my eyes open refusing to tease myself any further as i unconsciously done many nights with these relentless dreams of Ayla. Witnessing the green hair spread across my legs fury instantly overcame me as i pushed her roughly off me and jumped to my feet

"Torra!"

Before she could speak  Arrows rained down on us, Shouts and the sounds of bullets following. Before anyone could react further, i watched as Emil transformed and charged while Judah let out several rounds of gunfire and killed the other two. In mere moments the ambush was concluded

I momentarily contemplated how he was prepared with his firearm. I look over at Judah, his face was like stone but the glint in his eyes confirmed my suspicions. He had rewound time to take control of the fight that had caught us all unaware. I didn't even want to know what the casualties would have been if he hadn't

I smirked at him as he walked over to the  men whom had been shooting the arrows at us. His face instantly twisted into a deep scowl as he surveyed them

"What is it?" I sked noting the look on his face

"They... are human" Dismay colored his tone

Shocked i looked at the men again, more closely. Of all the things i didn't expect it was this. It s was now clear some of Judah's men had joined the enemy. I always thought of the humans as above loyal. Everyone knew that most humans hated anything magical, supernatural or otherwise.

This was truly monumental 

He didn't speak only glared at the dead bodies before stalking off and barking orders to pack up. My men looked to me for confirmation which i gave with a nod. This location was now compromised.   As we rode out it seemed the war had just grown even more complicated than it already was

Ayla's parents were stolen and our supposed  prisoner had clearly outwitted us. And now Judah's men were apparently  joining the enemy. What was be  next? The dragons joining Dakkar after all he done to them? Ayla too? and on top of all of that Torra was growing to become a liability....................
