"Master." A voice called out as Kael stepped into Holo's room.
The beast man lay on the bed, his nose scrunched up as beads of sweat dripped down his face.
Another person sat on a chair beside the beast man, who expectantly looked up at his Master.
Kael smiled gently as he hovered his palm on Holo's forehead. A white glow settled on the beast's forehead before spreading throughout his body.
The beast's scrunched up face finally relaxed as he continued to slumber.
The glow receded as Kael took back his hand before grabbing a chair and plopping down next to the other occupant of the room.
"Amazing, Master. Even I need a few incantations to do a spell like that." The other turned toward the master, respect and awe in his expression.
Kael chuckled as he ruffled the short silver locks on top of the person's head. "You'll get there, Rai."
"I'll do my best."
Rai is the group's healer. A priest of another country who followed Kael on his journey.
Although he was titled a priest, it was merely for show. The true masterminds hid behind Rai. He was a puppet for those who wanted power and control.
Everyday he would stand in the spotlight, while the one's who controlled the puppet, stood behind the stage, tugging strings to move their piece.
Rai met Kael at random when the church called on its citizens for the monthly tax payment. Kael got caught up in the annual 'gathering' as he was passing through.
The church would acquire money from its citizens and give out 'blessings' in return.
Rai was the one giving out blessings, as he was the one with the highest position, and said to be a messenger of god.
The people of this country were religious and gladly offered their money in exchange for the blessings given by the priest.
Although the church promised to use the tax for the country and its people, those were empty promises as all the money went to one's pulling the strings. Rai, had no knowledge of this.
Kael was mistaken for a citizen of the country and was forced to the church.
When it was his turn to turn in the tax, he merely smiled and said, "I am not a citizen of this country."
"What?..... Then why are you here?....." Rai blinked at the long haired beauty standing before him.
"Hmmm....." Kael rubbed his chin before breaking out into a large grin, "I was dragged here."
"Huh?!...." Rai stood shocked as he stared at this person, before tearing his gaze away and stared at the guards instead.
The guards nervously looked away.
Rai sighed as he dismissed the silverette.
"Oh! By the way ..." Kael exclaimed, startling the priest, before leaning towards him, whispering, "You say you use the money to make this country a better place where the people shall thrive...... That's not what I saw as I passed through."
Rai's eyes widened in shock, "Wha-what do you-?!..."
Kael pulled away and smiled with his eyes closed, "Exactly what I said." Kael turned away as he started walking to the exit. "If you don't believe me, why don't you take a look yourself." He called out as he walked away.
After days of contemplating and resuming his duties as usual, Rai mustered up the courage and sneaked out of the church at night, once all the others were asleep.
