Adrien watched with a slight crease in between his eyebrows as Luka opened the door for Marinette. His heart pounded as Marinette smiled at Luka, who let her into his home. It was a feeling that Adrien couldn't quite place, a particular sort of possessiveness and worry that Adrien chose to ignore.

It's just because you don't really know the guy, he reasoned as they pulled up to the apartment. Any good friend would want their friends to stay safe.

But still...Adrien had talked to Luka a couple of times, and he knew that he was a good guy. Why was he so hung over it?

To Adrien's surprise, Kagami was already waiting for him when he entered the apartment. He mentally smacked himself for forgetting about their project, and the fact that he forgot to tell her the shoot ran a bit late.

Alya was chatting with Kagami at the kitchen table. Noticing his arrival, Kagami gave Adrien an unimpressed look. "You're late."

Adrien winced, putting his bag down. "Sorry," he apologized. "The shoot ran a bit later than I expected, and I forgot to text you."

Kagami raised an eyebrow, her gaze searching Adrien's face. "Well?" She demanded. "What are you waiting for? Hurry up! We have a project to do."

Adrien sagged with relief, and he joined Kagami at the table, pulling out his notes and laptop. The hours ticked by, and before long, Kagami and Adrien had finished a sizable amount of the research.

In the background, Alya and Nino were playing their video games as they had been for the past hour and a half.

Seriously, Adrien thought as he took a drink of water, don't they have any homework at all?

"Do you have a girlfriend?" Kagami asked, seemingly out of nowhere.

Adrien choked and sputtered on his drink, spraying water everywhere. The background noise of the video games paused and in the corner of his eye, he spotted Alya and Nino glancing over.

What's with everybody today? Adrien thought grumpily as he wiped away the water he had spit all over the table. Thankfully, they had already packed everything away so nothing of importance was dirtied.

"Sorry?" Adrien asked, wanting to be polite but hoping that Kagami wouldn't repeat her question.

Of course, much to his cursed luck, she did. "Do you have a girlfriend?" She asked, dead serious, not a hint of a joke could be detected in her tone or her expression.

While Adrien was busy trying to come up with an answer, Alya rushed to his rescue. "It's getting late," she said, putting a hand on his shoulder. "Didn't you say you have another shoot tomorrow, Adrien?"

"What?" He asked. "No I don't."

She glared daggers at him and he realized what she was doing nearly too late. "The shoot," she hissed through gritted teeth. "You know, the one you were telling me about earlier at school? I sure hope you remembered to tell Marinette. Better call her right away and get your beauty sleep. God forbid you show up with dark circles."

Adrien nodded eagerly, all too willing to dodge Kagami's questions although he did feel a little bad. Thankfully, Kagami looked more confused than hurt. "Yeah," he said. "The shoot. Right. Haha, silly me, I almost forgot. It is getting late. Kagami, do you need a ride home? I can drive you if you —ouch!"
