I just watched the New York special a couple of days ago. Let me just say, I love the babies just as much as the next person, but god I'd forgotten what it's like to die from second-hand embarrassment.
Anyways, this will be the last chapter of this fanfic. Thank you so much for reading all the way until the end, it means more to me than you'll ever know.
Enjoy :) <3

Ladybug was discharged from the hospital two weeks later. Because she never used her lucky charm, the city of Paris was left with no choice but to do their own repairs.
"School's out!" Alya whooped over the phone when she and Marinette called. "Good thing too, I just found the perfect show to binge."
Marinette smiled as she lay on the hospital bed. "You'll have to tell me about it when you get to the house." Both she and Adrien had decided to go to his family property on the French countryside, a nice getaway from everything they had been through. They extended the invitation to Alya and Nino as well, who eagerly accepted. Marinette and Adrien were due to leave that day, Alya and Nino, a few days later.
"Speaking of which," Alya said, "I'd better get packing. Love you, girl!"
"Love you too," Marinette grinned, putting her phone away.
There was a knock at the door. "Ladybug?" A voice called out. "I'm about to come in."
"Spots on!" Marinette hissed just as a doctor entered the room. He smiled and set to work to make sure she was ready to leave. It wasn't long before Ladybug stepped outside of the hospital room for the first time in two weeks, her legs and back were stiff and sore being lying down the entire time. Chat Noir was waiting for her at the entrance, seemingly lost in thought as nurses and patients turned and stared at him while they passed.
"Chat," Ladybug breathed, walking up from behind him and taking his hands in hers.
Chat Noir grinned at his lady, the sight of her walking around healthy and free of injuries filling his chest with relief. "My Lady," he whispered, a hand cupping her face and pulling her into a kiss despite the passerbys. "Are you ready to go?" He asked when they finally pulled apart, both a little bit breathless.
"I am," Ladybug grinned, and they walked out of the hospital together and into the sunlight.
It was strange, Ladybug decided, to sneak into Adrien's home with Chat Noir knowing that he was Adrien. The mansion was as grand as she remembered. Smooth, polished tile with marble columns rising up to meet the ceiling as sunlight spilled through the colossal window at the top of the grand staircase.
Chat Noir had barely left Ladybug's side the entire two weeks she had been in the hospital, and he had brought her back so he could pick up some of his essentials before they left for the cabin. Ladybug perched on Chat's bed, looking around his room. It looked the same as the last time she had been here four years ago when she and Chat had been fourteen.
"Um," Chat turned and looked at his lady, his emerald eyes flashing. "Should we—should we talk about us before we leave?"
Ladybug paused as panic that flashed in her chest. There's no need to panic anymore, she told herself. Hawkmoth is defeated.
"Well I think it's safe to say that I know who you are," she said with a wry smile.
Chat Noir grinned, "and I know who you are."
Ladybug wasn't surprised, he did manage to convince her mom and dad that she was fine after all, there was no way he could do that if he didn't know her identity. "Shall we make it official?" She asked, hopping off the bed and taking Chat's hands in hers. Chat nodded, swallowing. Ladybug watched as he closed his eyes before closing hers.
"Three, two, one," she breathed.
"Claws in."
"Spots off."
Marinette opened her eyes to see Adrien standing before her. She raised a shaking hand to his face, cupping it gently, and pulling him into a kiss. His hands tightened around her waist and Marinette was taken aback by the tears that were tracing down both their cheeks.
Stumbling, Marinette's knees hit the back of Adrien's bed and they fell back onto the lush mountain of pillows and blankets.

"The press will be even more insistent on finding out our identities now that Hawkmoth is defeated," Adrien said with a small laugh several hours later. The sun was about to set, casting a layer of amber and gold across the room.
"I don't think we should tell them," Marinette mused. "It'll be a secret. Our secret. Besides, we'll never know when another supervillain will pop up."
"There's a chance now, right?" Adrien asked, trailing kisses down her neck. "Now that Hawkmoth's gone? There's a real chance for you and me?"
Marinette stiffened, not able to help but notice the way Adrien had carefully avoided saying "my father". They had yet to talk about the subject in detail, but Marinette was sure they'd work through it, the way they worked through everything together in the past.
Tightening her grip on his hand, Marinette smiled, pressing a kiss onto his forehead. "Yes."
