Break In

Dahee found herself at the nearest mall, accompanied by Jaemin, who had taken it upon himself to lift her spirits. She couldn't help but appreciate his effort; she was genuinely enjoying his company. As they engaged in a fierce game of motorbike racing at the arcade, the competitive spirit between them grew palpable.

"I'll end you, Oh Dahee," Jaemin smirked, his eyes gleaming with determination.

"Keep trying, Na Jaemin," Dahee retorted, a playful glint in her eye.

Their focus was solely on the game, both vying for victory as if they were in a tournament. Dahee proposed a bet to make things more interesting.

"Let's play for two rounds, and the loser will do anyting for the winner!" she suggested, to which Jaemin readily agreed.

"If I win, you'll buy me that," Dahee pointed to a medium-sized teddy bear on display, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

"And if I win?" Jaemin raised an eyebrow, his lips curving into a smirk.

"If....you win, hmmm." Dahee mutters, deep in thought.

"If I win, you're hanging out with me again on Saturday," Jaemin proposed, matching his smirk with determination.

"Deal," she declared, ready to give it her all.

The first round ended with Dahee emerging victorious, sticking her tongue out at Jaemin in playful triumph. He simply looked at her fondly, seemingly unfazed by his loss.

As the second round commenced, Jaemin's demeanor shifted, his focus intensifying. Dahee couldn't help but laugh at his newfound seriousness, finding it endearing that he was so invested in spending time with her. Despite her best efforts, Jaemin managed to overtake her, winning the round.

Determined to break the tie, they agreed to one final round. It was a close match, with both of them giving it their all. In the end, Jaemin emerged victorious once again, much to Dahee's playful dismay.

"You lost," Jaemin grinned, his teasing smile only fueling Dahee's competitive spirit.

"Yeah, yeah, you won. Congrats," she replied, rolling her eyes but unable to suppress a smile.

Somehow spending more time with him, didn't sound so bad.

As they walked side by side to the bus station, Dahee found herself appreciating Jaemin's company more and more. She was beginning to realize just how much fun she had with him, despite his penchant for embarrassing antics.

"Thank you for cheering me up. I really appreciate it," Dahee said, a small smile tugging at her lips.

"If you're tired of my apologies, then I'm tired of your thank-yous," Jaemin joked with his hands inside his pockets, his smile warm and genuine.

"It's nothing, really," he added, his easygoing demeanor putting Dahee at ease.

Despite only having met Jaemin recently, Dahee couldn't shake the feeling of closeness she felt towards him. Unlike her experiences with others, it hadn't taken months to establish a bond with him; it had happened almost instantly.

She leans on the doorframe and rolled her eyes at Jaemin's joke, that she did actually like, though won't admit it verbally.

"You laughed! Chickens do lay eggs or they'll break if they just drop it!" He insisted.

"Jaemin, it was a laugh out of pity. Also that joke is common sense." She scoffs.

"Still. Jeno found it funny." He shrugged.

"Oh! On Saturday." He smirked.

"Right. Saturday one pm." You recited what he said earlier on the bus ride.

"See you then." He waves, retreating back to the sidewalk.

Dahee couldn't erase her smile on her face as she fishes her house keys from her pockets. She found herself faced with confusion when her door didn't lock as it should have.

She felt a pang of fear, realizing that Jaemin was no longer there to help her. Steeling herself, she entered cautiously, grabbing a baseball bat for protection.

As she heard a noise coming from the kitchen, Dahee hesitated for a moment before deciding to investigate. With bat in hand, she crept towards the source of the sound, her heart pounding in her chest.

"Who's there?" she called out, her voice wavering slightly.
