Y/N was taking a stroll down the street during the night, she always enjoyed the colder and rougher winds that travelled through the cities after the sun went down. Killua never liked this habit of hers though, he was painfully overprotective of her and hated the idea of her leaving the house alone and vulnerable in the dark. However, Gon understood her need for adventure and always helped her sneak out. She was humming to the song that she was listening to through her headphones and something caught her eye. 'Is that a dog? Wait, no, if I go pet it ill get attached I should just walk away' she said reluctantly 'Oh who am I kidding?' She said before giving up and walking back to where she saw it

It was a husky, as soon as it saw Y/N bending down to pet him he immediately rolled over, desperate for affection. After all "A good hunter is well-liked by animals". "A boy, huh?" Y/N noticed before petting him. She was shocked after feeling his fur, rough and cold, she knew that there was no turning back so she checked to see if he had a name tag, he didn't (which relieved her) she then picked him up to take him to the nearest vet in case he was unhealthy or harmed.

She ended up spending 120 Jenny on food, shampoo, an injection, and a leash. She stared at her bill knowing that she would get scolded by Killua for spending this much on a dog. She walked him home with her before stopping in front of her house thinking of a way to make it inside without getting flicked on the forehead by Killua, she figured Gon would be more open to the idea so she called him.

"Hello? Y/N?" Gon answered

"Hey its me" Y/N replied

"Is everything okay?" He asked in a concerned tone

"Yeah yeah I'm fine, just meet me outside the house for a second. And make sure Killua doesn't notice" she instructed Gon

"Thats not a good sign" he sighed while laughing "Ill be right there" he said

He cautiously opened the door and made eye contact with Y/N, they both laughed nervously.

"So, what is it?" Gon asked curiously.

"This." She said picking up the panting dog and presenting him to Gon.

Gon kept a straight face, blinked a couple of times, then exclaimed "AWW! Can we keep it?" He said immediately stole the husky and started petting it.

"Thats what I needed help with" Y/N said smiling while she scratched the back of her neck

"Ohh now I get it...Killua will never say yes, will he?"
Gon said in realization

"...Should we just make a run for it?" Y/N asked knowing that they couldn't come up with a batter idea

"I think thats our best bet" Gon replied reluctantly

They both then dashed into the house, up the stairs, and into Y/N's room, obviously catching the attention of Killua

He ran up the stairs out if concern then was relieved to hear the sound of giggling coming through the door. "What did you two do this time?" Killua asked while facepalming

"Oh dont sound so negative Kil, this is one of our less damaging decisions" Y/N said crossing her arms

"I bet it is" killua said sarcastically "Lets just get this over with, open the door" He said

"I think you'll like this one" Gon said, you know, like a liar.

"Well that's reassuring" Killua scoffed

Y/N got bored of the arguement and unlocked the door before swinging it open. "...Tada" she said holding the dog

"...Well this should be fun" Killua said smiling to their surprise

"What?" Y/N and Gon asked at the same time

"I shiver at the thought of you two taking care of a living breathing creature but, to put it simply, I like dogs" he said bending down to pet the dog smiling at it

"Sweet" Y/N and Gon whispered giving eachother a fist-bump

"Lets name him Ace!" Y/N suggested

Gon and Killua exchanges glances and nodded.

"Im gonna go to bed, goodnight you two" Gon said exiting the room

"Night" Y/N and Killua said also leaving the room to go downstairs to the living room. Y/N poured him some of the food she got him into a bowl and clean water into another, Ace ran to them immediately.

Killua then relaxed on the couch while Y/N sat on the beanbag hugging Ace who fell asleep soon after

"No offense but I already love him more than you and Gon combined" Y/N said jokingly

"Ouch." Killua said coldly, he looked over at her and thought '...Oh, what the hell- Go for it'

She was focused on the TV when she noticed Killua get up then bend down next to her, "Hm?" She hummed

He tucked her hair behind her ear and leaned in whispering "I can change your mind" His warm breath caressed her ear making her quiver

"E-Eh? What's that supposed to mean?" Y/N asked feeling her heart rate increase by the second.

"Come here" he said softly in a husky voice, he picked Y/N up, sat down on the couch, and gently sat her down on his lap and rested her head on his chest.

She gripped his shirt in surprise with both hands and widened her eyes, not making a sound. She could feel his every heartbeat, she was so excited that she might explode

Smooth Guy over here wasn't doing much better, he had never been more grateful for his assassin training since he could conceal his shaky and unsteady breaths

He hesitantly started running his fingers through her silky H/L, H/C hair nervous as to whether Y/N felt uncomfortable or not. Little did he know that she wished she could freeze time and sit there for eternity. She slowly lifted her almost completely numb arms and wrapped them around his neck before nuzzling her head in the crook of his neck. The silver haired boy felt his ears turn bright red as he trembled slightly at the fuzzy feeling. They sat in a comfortable silence as their breath matched up and began moving at the same pace. They enjoyed each-others presence, grateful that the other couldn't see their dorky smiles.

Y/N broke the silence with a soft giggle "We should do this more often, you're surprisingly comforting"
She said snuggling closer to him

He chuckled softly "im flattered" he said sarcastically  earning a playful scoff from her before sighing. "Though, Im not against that idea" he muttered twirling a strand of her hair with his slender finger.

"Um...Killu?" Y/N mustered up the courage to ask

"Yeah?" He replied, masking his worry

"I...Im glad you all found me that day. I don't think I would have lived to see the next sunrise if you hadn't happened to walk by that alley that day."

He breathed out softly and gently grabbed Y/Ns shoulders to make her face him. With a lip smile, he scoffed and said "The most useful thing that old man ever did was knock the sense into me that day."

Y/N put her hand on his head surprising him, her soft palm slid down to his cheek making him turn bright pink. As he sharply looked away aboiding eye contact, Y/N pinched his cheek roughly saying "Yeah asshole, you were gonna leave me there" she exclaimed unexpectedly with a snarky pout.

He got jokingly mad and cupped his cheek with his palm. He directed a salty glare at her saying "I take it back, should have left ya there." He flicked her forehead.

"Well too bad, I didn't come with a receipt, sucker." She stuck her tongue out and rested her head on her hands with her eyes closed.

He gently placed his palm on the back of Y/N's head, pulled her in, and said with no hesitation "Thanks for sticking around"
