I am so sorry for how unnecessarily long this chapter turned out to be, I tried my best to make it realistic and ended up dragging it out too much so I split it into 2 parts. Please enjoy and excuse the length

Bright stars gave life to the night sky as they flickered and glowed. On Whale Island, people didn't rely on city lights to keep them company after dawn. Gon, Killua, Kurapika, and Leorio had agreed to meet there, they would no longer have to wait months to see one another. During this quick visit, Mito-san welcomed them into her home with open arms. They spent the first day meeting the cheerful people and adventuring around Gon's favorite spots around the mountains.

That night, Mito-san planned to make a feast, the people of Whale Island may be simple but their warmth comes second to none. Leorio and Killua were chosen to go out and buy ingredients, the main reasons being that Leorio was the only one familiar with all the exotic ingredients and that Killua was, to put it simply, filthy rich.

And there they were, lugging around plastic bags as they made their way back. To no ones surprise, they started arguing.

"You should be the one carrying all these! You're loaded with money but you couldn't cough up a single coin when we had to pay!" Leorio screeched as he looked down to face the white haired boy.

"Shut up old man! You think I took the time to stuff a backpack with Jenny when I casually stabbed my mother in the face and ran off!? Even if I did, I don't want to rely on the money they made by taking lives!" He yelled back pointing his finger in Leorio's face knowing that it would provoke him.

"OH YOURE SUDDENLY A NOBLE MAN, ARE YA?" Leorio growled. "I WORK MY ASS OFF TO MAKE THAT MO-" Leorio cut himself off and had a concerned expression as Killua did the same.

They both took a deep breath, there was a sudden overwhelming scent in the air.

"Blood" they both said simultaneously. The aroma was so intense that they both knew where it was coming from and darted in that direction. Blood is nothing new to them, but Gon has mentioned a dozen times how safe the island is. Something was wrong.

The smell lead them to an alley at the very end of the town, the red bricks that the walls were made of were a darker shade than usual. Blood red. They couldn't see very well, but what's more important than that was what they could hear.

Sharp and heavy panting.
Violent coughing.
Pained groaning.
A thick liquid dripping onto the cold concrete below.
Soft yet shaky cries.

Their eyes widened. Both Killua and Leorio concealed their presences as they were about to step closer before another sound was heard.

CLANG

They waited no longer before sprinting over to the source of the noise.

"HEY! ARE YOU OKAY?" Leorio yelled, he was a doctor after all. Killua said nothing as they both reached their destination. Someone had ran away leaving behind a second person

A young girl, no younger than 14, rag-dolled on the floor with a nearly lifeless body. Eyes nearly drained of their sparkle with blood dripping from her mouth. The loud noise appeared to come from the pipe crushing her leg. That wasn't all, she had been impaled in her right side with another rusty pipe. The dark crimson blood seeped into the cracks in the ground and created a dreadful puddle beneath her. Leorio was horrified while Killua barely squinted.
