Seven's POV
“Take him out of here. And make sure he doesn't die. He needs to live to face the consequences of his own shit. ”

“Sir. ” we answered with unison. We grabbed him by his hands and we dragged him out while he was screaming profanities that were beyond me.

“You mother f-”

“Ok I think that's enough.” I interrupted him.

“You enjoying this aren't you?” he hissed.

“Well...” I smiled. “I told you that you shouldn't have done that but you really have this had habit of not listening to me so what was I to do with that? I told you that there are some things that you just couldn't do. But no, you had to help the big boss didn't you?” I mimicked him.

“Yea yea whatever. And just so you know, I'm not the only one who will end up like this. Your turn is coming. ” he spat.

“Well, we would have to wait for that day now wouldn't we?” I continued smiling.

“For a person who will soon die, you sure are happy.” Luke commented.

“I don't know about you Luke, but I'm not planning on dying anytime soon. That's why I told the big boss we let the girl go and get the hell out of here. Without you of course,” I said, looking at Levi. “You messed up bad man, and I don't know how to undo that shit.”

“You can't just leave me here Seven. I know I messed up, but my life doesn't have to pay for it. The girl is alive after all, why would Summers want to kill me?” he asked.

“Are you seriously gonna ask us that?” I asked back.

“Please don't leave me here. I beg you guys. Please.” when I looked at the guy, you could see he really didn't want to die.

“Ok fine. We'll see what we can do. But first you need to get stitched up, if you really wanna live, that is.” I replied.

“Ye..yes boss.” he stuttered. “Thank...tha-nk you.” when I looked at him, I saw that he was about to pass out and I urged Luke to hurry. When we got to our mini clinic, the guys just looked at us, confused as to how he was hurt and we weren't.

“Long story short, he shot the wrong girl.” I answered before they could question us. After that, they quickly attended to him. We then walked out and waited for them to save him.

Then I realized I haven't checked on Miss Kalani after the whole incident. I didn't even know if she was awake or if she was even comfortable. And if I really wanted to live to see the next day, I had to make sure she was safe and sound.

“I will go check to see if Miss Kalani is awake. You stay here and wait for that idiot to wake up.” I told Luke.

“Sir..”

At least one of them has manners to remember I'm still boss at some level.

Jacobson's POV

“Congratulations Jacobson. I knew this mission wouldn't be impossible for you.” my supervisor said shaking my hand. “I think you should celebrate this victory. How about you take the wife for dinner? The department will take care of the expenses.” he smiled.

“There is no need for such praise sir. I was just doing my job.” I smiled. I didn't like much praises when I did my job right. It only made my blush. I know I'm an 43 year old man, but that doesn't stop me from blushing when I get a compliment.

“Nonsense. We have been trying to get evidence on Steffano for years now. And you only needed a few months.” he said going towards the window. “Your work is outstanding Jacobson. You should really take out the wife tonight.” he then stood there.

“Only if you insist sir.” I said.

“I do. Now go, enjoy yourself. You deserve it.” he said.

“And the warranty?” I asked.

“I will ask one of the guys to get a warranty of arrest, then all we need to do is find the bastard.” he snared.

“So long as they get it fast sir. If Steffano so even suspects me one bit, he will go under, and it will take years to get him back up sir. The evidence might even disappear. And we both know how that would end up.”

“You right Agent. We should close any loopholes before he even finds any. Let me just phone these guys and tell me them to get the warranty now.”

“Ok. ” I moved closer to the chair so I can sit down.

“No, he said while picking the phone, “you are going out with your wife and I don't need you here any longer than you have to be. I'm sure your wife is quite relived that you actually done wearing like a gangster.” I mini laughed.

“That's true sir.” I continued. “She was really through with me. I think she was even ready to file for divorce.” I joked.

“ Just go Jacobson. Go make your wife happy.” he smirked. I felt like there was a double meaning to what he said, but I didn't take it to heart because his mind was not the cleanest you could find, so I wouldn't even bother.

“Right, I will take my leave sir.” and then I walked out.

It was particularly hard trying to get close to Steffano over the last 8 months. The dude has alot of connections with the big guys although he is just an underdog. Although his shipments are outstanding and always delivered on time, he was gullible. If you had connections that could get him better merchandise or faster shipment, you were the right hand man fast.

And that's how I was able to pin him to a corner and make him trust me. I used my connections, aka the SWAT, to actually get him much needed information and Intel that would only benefit me at the end.

At first, alot of people thought I would take years to finish this case, but look at me now. All we need is a warranty of arrest and then we got him.

I need to call my wife and tell her about dinner. Oh she is soo gonna be happy. I have been up and down this whole time trying to make sure I'm not caught. So I only visited once a week just to check up on them. But my wife took it the hardest as we couldn't even video call for the fear of being caught. So the only way to see her was face to face. And that too, after being over sure that we are alone and that we are at home.

But before I could call her, my phone ringed. Maybe it's her, I smiled.

When I looked at the caller ID, it was Alex.

That's weird.

Alex only calls me when there is an emergency with the family. He is in charge of taking care of my family when I'm away. And I heard from my boys that he is doing a very good job at it. So I answered the call hoping that nobody was hurt.

“What happened?” I answered. I didn't have time to greet him, that would come later.

“Sir it's your daughter Kalani. They have her sir.” he replied.

My lovely humans.

I'm sorry for the late update. My mind has been blank for the past few days. I have been on and off with this chapter and it was really frustrating. I hope this suffices for now.

What do you think about Kalani's dad? Do you think it was the right move to add him now?
