Chapter 73

She's really glad to have invited her. After a while, the entract is announced and the two girls join the hall.

Sa: Did you like it so far? If you are bored we can go back now.
Nr: I was surprised by how beautiful it is. I never noticed how people dancing could be so graceful. I'm actually enjoying it a lot. Thanks for bringing me here, I definitely want to see the end!
Sa: Sure. I'm glad you like it. I'll invite you again if I get another opportunity.
Nr: Please do!

They go back inside for the rest of the play and at some point No rae start to look strange. It feels like she is about to cry. Seol A lean toward her and whisper to her ears

Sa: Are you all right?

Her breath caught her off guard and she jumped as it tickled her.

Nr: Yeah I'm ok, it just got me a bit emotional.
Sa: you know if you want to let it out nobody will see you in this heavy darkness...
Nr: ( you will though...)

Seol A softly caress no Rae's cheek. She feel the urge to kiss her but she know she can't. Suddenly the lights are going off and the place become completely dark. She feel no Rae's hand reaching hers. Within two seconds the time feel like it's on a hold. Nothing happen, the silence is complete and the two girls are like isolated from the outside the world. Driven by their emotions, they lean a bit forward one another. Their lips are close enough that they feel their breath. When the light goes on again, they eventually notice their closeness and both turn backward with embarrassment and start clapping hands.

Nr: (It's getting more and more difficult to contain myself... I almost kissed her, I need to be careful.)
Sa: ( kyaaaaa I was soo close to do it, my heart is beating like crazy, the mood was perfect! If only this damn light didn't go on so soon, I would have had kissed her by now.. god I need to calm down. I almost ruined everything)
Nr: should we go then?
Sa: yeah lets go back home.

The two girls feels light as if gravity stopped working on them. It's a mix of excitement from their proximity and anxiety of being discovered or even worst rejected and banned by the other. Without talking for some time, Seol and No Rae walk side by side, arms almost touching. No Rae look as enigmatic as ever. She stop moving and stare at the sky. Seol match her pace, she's trying to read her body language.

Sa: (did she notice..?)

No Rae suddenly turn her head to look firmly to Seol. She aim for her hand and give her a small, mysterious smile.

Nr: you still are cold right?

She put both of their hands in her pocket. It's unusual for her to make a move like this. Most of the time Seol is the one doing it and she feels a bit shy by this change. She got used to hold her hands but it feels a bit different now.

Sa: thanks...
Nr: So what do you want to do now? I think that walking home is not an option but should we take a taxi or do you want to have a drink and go after?

Seol A only knows that she doesn't want to let go.

Sa: What about having a drink at my place? We can go buy some booze and talk about the play before going to sleep?
Nr: Ok. I can also stop by my place and take one bottle of peach liquor, my mum send me some and I know you like it very much.
Sa: Oooh yess! I'd love that!
Nr: kekeke my mom is the best brewer ever!
Sa: She sure is..! Maybe she can teach us some day!
Nr: you would be surprised by how much she hold her secrets dear..!
Sa: kekeke, I'll massage her shoulders and tell her some sweet words, I'm sure she will give in easily.
Nr: You do know how to handle people, I wouldn't be surprised if it worked.
Sa: kekeke did I do a good job handeling you then?

No Rae stop and smile widely to her.

Nr: better than anyone before.

Seol A feels her face warming up to this sentence (do I stand a chance..? I'm loosing patience...)

Sa: you did avoid me at some point though...
Nr: Hey that's not fait I already told you I was sorry and that I won't do it again.
Sa: kekeke sure sure, whatever you say.
