Chapter 77

Sung pyo is sitting on a bench near uni. He has his head down, covered by his two hands. He's not crying but any passerby would believe he is. It doesn't matter, he feels like the world ended and he has no purpose living anymore.

Hye kyong see him and worry about him. She sit next to him.

Hk: bad day?

Sung pyo raise his head a little to look at her before getting back to his depressive stance, without answering.

Hk: tsk tsk... what happened to you? You're usually so cheerful, why so down?

Sp: none of your business. Sorry but can you live me alone? I'm not in a very good mood right now.

Hk: if this has something to do with Kim no Rae then you can call it my business. I've been waiting to get you two back together since you returned!

Sp: haha. You can drop that to trash, since she doesn't love me anymore.

Hk: did she say so?

Sp: yeah.

Hk: oh. Do you want to have a drink with me while talking this through? I'm sure there is some way to cheer you up.

Sung pyo straighten his back to sit properly but he stay silent for a bit. Then he turn his head to look at hie kyong and close his eyes.

Sp: ok.

They are sitting at a Sony bar. Hie kyong is prying to know all the detail and pouring glass after glass for him to open up.

Hk: So so, she did say that she like you!

Sp: yeah, but then she said she didn't love me anymore.

Hk: mmh but there is a thin border between like and love and a huge gap between like and hate don't you think?

Sp: what do you mean?

Hk: As I see this situation, it seems that you still stand a chance! She agreed to let you be her friend and she told you she liked you, which means she has probably forgiven you.

Sp: but she doesn't love me.

Hk: she had a very hard time when you broke up you know? She had to work hard to let go of those feelings and erase you from her heart. So I think it's only natural that she doesn't still love you and that she is being cautious about falling for you again. She might have forgiven you but it doesn't mean that she trust you again.
