Book 1 --- Chapter 2

Red
Changing Stories
Spin around and say:
"Pages one, two, three, four, five,
Change the page,
To number three!"
If it doesn't work it means there's someone else who would like to change stories. You can change stories with this person too. Also be wary of the writer, if she finds out
The rest was blotched out. Rapunzel eyed Red. "Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" she asked and Red nodded vigorously. They backed away from the podium, and started to spin. Together they said:
"Pages one, two, three, four, five
Change the page
To number three!"
Nothing happened. The girls stared at the ground, disappointed. Rapunzel suddenly gasped. Red looked over and gaped. Rapunzel was wearing her clothes!
Red quickly looked down and saw that she was wearing Rapunzel's clothes. She looked behind her to see two long brown braids twisting out of the room. Terror and excitement filled Red. She looked back to see Rapunzel's face, which was a mixture of horror and joy.
"I can't believe it worked," Rapunzel whispered in awe. Suddenly, her clothes flickered and were replaced with her old clothes. Rapunzel and Red wore the same outfit.
"But..." Rapunzel looked confused. Red quickly read more and looked stricken.
"Someone else wants to change stories too," she said, as she scanned the page. "But according to this, you can change with that person too," Red continued. Rapunzel nodded and ran out of the room. Red felt a sharp tug on her hair and at the same time she heard someone yell. Red ran out of the room and realized that Rapunzel had jumped out of the window and at the last second, grabbed a braid. But she bashed herself into the wall in doing so.
"Bad idea." Rapunzel gasped and staggered away. She weakly waved to Red, who waved back. Rapunzel looked at the path a head of her. "Off to find the next girl, then..." She wandered down the path. Past the trees, where Rapunzel can't see, a kingdom stood. And there a ball was happening for a certain prince to find his bride...
