Book 1 --- Chapter 3

Cinderella
Cinderella was having the time of her life. Well, more like having the 5,000,000th time of her life. The prince, as always, was handsome and as they danced together, Cinderella couldn't help but melt in his arms.
"What's your name, young maiden?" he asked, ending the dance with a kiss on her hand. Cinderella opened her mouth to respond, when the clock clanged once...
Twice
Three times
Four
"I have to go!" she cried, and raced away.
"What kind of name is 'I have to go'?" the prince cried, throwing his hands up in despair. He sighed and called his men to go after her.

She ran down the steps, the prince's men thundering after her. She tripped and quickly picked herself up leaving a glass slipper behind.

She looked behind her then turns back just in time to crash into someone. "Sorry!" Cindy cried, and helped the girl up.

Cindy whirled around to look at the clock.

The clanging stopped. Cinderella's beautiful ball gown changed into smelly, dirty rags. The prince's men ran past her, toward the city. She looked up the stepped to see the prince picking up her shoe.
"I will find you, my love," he whispered, "if it's the last thing I do." Cindy's heart melted.
"Whew!" a voice said behind her and she looked over at the girl she ran over. "Ever heard of a shower, sister?" she asked, waving her hand back and forth over her nose. Cindy frowned.
"First of all, it's not that bad!" she protested. "Second, who are you, and third, I'm not your sister," she frowned. The girl had long blond hair, and I mean LONG hair. Cinderella squinted to see that it ended at the edge of the woods, which was miles from here. Her bight blue eyes unnerved Cindy for some reason.
"It is, Rapunzel, and I know," the girl replied, dusting off her clothes.
"What-" she stopped, realizing what she meant.
"Quick question, would or would you not like to change stories?" Rapunzel asked, and straightened up.
"Odd," Cindy frowned. "But, yes. My name is Cinderella, Cindy for short," Cindy added. Rapunzel smiled.
"Here turn in a circle. Just follow my lead," Rapunzel commanded as they took a step back and began to spin.
"Pages one, two, three, four, five
Change the page
To number three!"
Cindy felt a tingle of magic and suddenly she was in a room full of animals, looking at her expectantly. She gripped the broom and squeaked, "Rapunzel?"
Rapunzel
Rapunzel stared at the spot where Cindy used to be. She was in her clothes (Cindy's clothes) but Cindy herself was nowhere to be seen. Rapunzel frowned but found herself walking away. "Uh oh," Rapunzel whispered, as she walked down the lane wondering where she was headed...
