George's POV

I looked away and nodded meekly, unsure of what to react with. Wilbur had somehow known that Dream was the one I fell for. Was it that obvious? Was I that unsuccessful in hiding it?

Wilbur seemed to understand my situation and quickly unmuted himself on the call. I was about to panic, but he simply stated into the phone while maintaining my eye contact, "George needs to go home guys, sorry. He will explain when he's ready."

I smiled sadly and whispered, "thanks."

Wilbur hung up, and he called for a nurse. After everything was cleared up, and I had made it obvious that I chose not to do the surgery that would result in my feelings lost, we miserably treaded towards his car.

"I'm sorry, George," Wilbur said. "I'm sorry that you won't take the surgery, and I'm sorry that Dream doesn't feel the same. But I want you to know that I'm here for you, and everyone too. We love you, George."

I nodded, tears welling up in my eyes, but never trailing down my cheeks. "It's okay, I'm fine with it."

We both sat in silence, knowing that there was no truth behind my statement.

Suddenly, a ring tone signaling a hang up on a call blared from Wilbur's phone.

We looked at each other through his mirror, and widened our eyes.

Wilbur hadn't left the call.

And Dream had heard it all.
