Wesley's POV
I watch her as she is talking to some three girls and laughing joyfully. I can't believe I am a standing outside my car, waiting for a girl to give her a ride home. It feels so out of character but also feels so right, as if it is supposed to be this way. She waves goodbye to the girls and walks over towards my direction but I don't think she sees me yet. She has her face down.
'Hey neighbor, need a ride home?' she jolts a little. It's funny how the weird little gestures she does makes her even more adorable. She rolls her eyes and pouts. Oh, oh, this can't be good.
She is giving me the same face she gave that day I fetched her from her house to take her on the beach date and we had a very heated argument. It feels like months ago. I slide my hands in my denim pockets and just wait for what's to come.
'No thanks. I do not need a ride. And even if I did, I wouldn't take it with a crude, self-centered person like you' here we go again with this self-centered word popping in our arguments. Why does she call me that? I mean I am not self-centered at all. I just want everything to go my way most of the time that's all.
'What are you on about now Clumsy?' I keep my tone calm because I know if I raise my voice, shit is gonna go down. Cheryl just transforms from this fragile, sweet angel to a cold, vermin demon when angry. And surprisingly, I find that really attractive.
As if I enjoy seeing her furious sometimes because then she doesn't seem shy and nervous anymore but bold and fierce, untouchable.
'You are so unbelievable Wesley. Making Rose believe that there is something wrong with her that makes you so distant and unaffectionate, where else it's actually you busy philandering around with girls such as Crystal! A whole senior for that matter! I should've just stood up and left after you hit me with your bicycle because then I wouldn't have to deal with your arrogance and disrespect ' she spits and I take a breath to keep calm.
Rose is not such a saint herself, she has been fucking my best friend behind my back and none of the two have had the balls to face and tell me the damn truth.
' Don't talk about Rosetta. You don't know her like I do, you just met her a few days ago'
'Oh, just like how I met you a few days ago right? Could you please just stay away from me' she says with sass and cold, emotionless eyes and walks away before I could even blink.
'So what is it? You go invisible after your new prey now' Crystal shows up out of no where. I am so not in the moods right now.
'Don't call her that' I call her off.
'What should I call her then Wesley? Because your eyes are sure gazing hungrily at her' she says and folds her arms.
'Crystal, you know there is one thing I hate and that's repeating myself. Because unlike you, I am not stupid. What we shared was fun and all but it has expired now. It's over. It was supposed to be just fun and flings in the first place. So stop obsessing and get over it. It's either we are friends or nothing at all because I hate to break it to you but your absence does not make any change in my daily living routine. Are we on the same page here? ' I coldly say and tears fill in her eyes.
Dont get me wrong, it's not like I enjoy making girls cry. But sometimes they can get so clingy and irritating. And they don't listen and I hate going over one thing all the time as if we are married or something. I don't remember signing up for commitment yet.
