Cheryl’s POV

I am sitting in the lounge, surrounded by different snacks and sweets enjoying my paradise, and I am disturbed by a door bell. You know, it feels like visitors are customed to have a bad timing!

'Who is it?' I ask, with my mouth stuffed. I stand up.

'Open up girlfriend! Is your girl Sasha' she says ecstatically and excitement instantly runs in my veins. I open the door and literally jump on her to give her the deepest hug. A year ago, Sasha moved from DC to here and we hadn't seen each other ever since. Every time I wanted to see her or talk to her, I would Skype her. So being able to see her in front of me, to hear her voice and to just touch her is overwhelming.

'Omg! I am so happy to see you! How did you get here?'

'I caught a cab honey, I had to come see you! You look so good' she says and I blush. I welcome her inside.

'Where is Vee?' Sasha has been the only person who would ever call Vanessa, Vee.

'She is asleep. She was really worn off when she came back from college today. Have some snacks. I'll make us some juice so that we can catch up. Have some snacks' I pass her my snacks and she gives me a smirk. You know the stories are gonna be juicy when she gives me that smirk.

...

'So you are telling me that you are afraid to love or fall for someone because of one stupid ass guy?'

'Cheryl, I loved that guy. To a point where he would still give me butterflies in my stomach after I had been on five dates with him. When I was with him, I would forget I had curfews, forget that we were still too young to have thoughts of building a house together! Everything just felt magical when I was with him but... it was all just a meaningless game to him. He had a score to settle. The pain and heartbreak I went through, was the most blunt feeling I could ever go through. And that's when I decided that maybe I am still too young for love and that I must just have fun while I await the right one ' as I listen to my best friend tell me this, I realize how something small that happened in the past can destroy and taint a beautiful thing that is to happen in the future. Maybe age is not just a number when it comes to love.

' I hear you, but are you really going to make the ones which would die to be with you suffer because of his immaturity? He is a jerk, but looking on the bright side, he has made you a lot stronger than you were' I give her a warm smile and wink at her. She salutes and we chuckle.

We play some music and do funny dances the whole time we were together. Singing along horribly. I mean we can sing but it's a lot fun when we do it horribly. I really missed this idiot of mine. Sasha receives a text and it looks like she is about to leave.

'Ahg! I have to go now, something just came up. But you know we gonna do this more often right?' she says.

'You know it!' I reply and we do our little handshake that we came up with since we were little.

'I can't belive we still remember this' I say and we laugh.

'I am so glad to finally have you back in my life again. And it relieves me to that you have pulled through those hardships and still manage to smile and laugh. You are a good person, and don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise' I am starting to get emotional again. We hug and say our goodbyes. She leaves. My phone rings and startles me. The log reads Grumpy. What does he want from me!?
