"Honestly, I think you're either in deep shit or in deeper shit."
Jeongyeon combed her hand through her hair. "Thanks, Chaeyoung, that was so comforting," she grunted, sarcastic.
She laughed, an opposite aura of the frustrated Jeongyeon. "No, but like seriously." She sipped from her straw, hiking her leg up on the chair. "I didn't think the situation would come this far."
"Did you even think anything about the situation?"
"Of course!" she replied, defensive. "I've been thinking how the plot of your relationship would be created. I just didn't know it would progress so much and so quickly."
Jeongyeon rolled her eyes. "Can you please keep your book lingo away for once?"
"No can do."
She groaned.
"Also," Chaeyoung continued, biting her straw. "How do you expect me to make a good picture out of this when this is literally the second time you're talking about him and in a completely different light? The first convo, you hate him because he's troubling the shit out of you and you want to throw him out of the building. Second narration after months, you have a crush on him! Come on, give me a break..."
Jeongyeon nodded slowly, realising her mistake there. She rubbed her face to get rid of the fatigue. "I think I had talked with you about our stupid interactions all the time but I also think you're right."
She ran a hand through her hair, noticing right then that she picked that habit from Jimin. "It's been five days. Five days since that thing happened, and I'm losing my mind."
"But what can I do?" she continued. "He occupies me so much. It's impossible to juggle him and everything together. It's like he takes up everything around me and sucks all my attention to him."
"Okay, you're so in love." Chaeyoung sipped from the straw, without taking her eyes off her. "Also, this is the moment where the best friend is supposed to say that friendships are better than relationships and that we should never leave each other's side. But if you're wanting to hear that, you're in no luck."
Jeongyeon groaned again. "Can you not? I'm going through a major crisis here and all you care about is yourself."
"No," she slurped. "I do care about you. I care about you and Jimin both because you make me laugh till my stomach hurts. I'm just sad that if you guys date now, you'll turn sappy and shit. No funny things to laugh at now."
She looked at Chaeyoung. Exactly. How was it going to be? She'd heard hate-to-love stories from her friends, but she never knew she would be one of them. For starters, she had been fond of Taehyung from the beginning with no hate phase in between, so when they started dating each other, they didn't have to try to forget the bickering part and start anew. It was completely natural. Like they were meant to date in the first place.
