When they got back to the beach, they found out Allura's friend Lotor came and picked her and Shiro up.

"I guess we can just swim for however long you want and go home when you're ready," Lance said.

"Or whenever you're ready. Whoever is ready first," Keith said.

Lance ran to the water and jumped in when it was deep enough

Lance ran to the water and jumped in when it was deep enough. Keith applies more sunscreen then followed him. Eventually the two of them were just floating around where their feet could barely touch.

Lance broke the silence, saying, "We can go check out the coral a little ways out there real quick then just come back"

Keith nodded and followed him out there. He couldn't help himself from watching the way Lance moved; he was swimming as if they'd been out here every day in the summer. Keith hopes he couldn't tell he was being watched because he could not take his eyes off his stupidly defined back muscles. Lance suddenly stopped and spun around to make sure Keith was still there. They were both underwater with their eyes open. It stung at first, but they both got used to it after awhile.

Lance noticed Keith watching him carefully when he turned around. He smiled at him and watched his mullet swirl in the moving water. Keith seemed to be confessing something with his intense eye contact. Lance couldn't explain it if someone asked him to, but he felt like their souls were bonded together like the splash of the waves and the beach's sand when they were suspended in the water.

By the time he realized they'd been staring into each other's eyes for awhile, it had already been too long to play it off, so he just smiled and swam closer to Keith. He felt like he needed to touch him, to hold him. They both went up to the surface for a quick breath, but Keith was knocked under again by and unexpected wave. Lance ducked back under in time and grabbed his hand. Keith didn't seem scared or anything; he just calmly watched Lance pull him upright again.

They both felt a swirl of emotions for each other, and it felt strange- like their stomachs were wrapped around their hearts

They both felt a swirl of emotions for each other, and it felt strange- like their stomachs were wrapped around their hearts. When Keith has his head about his feet, they both resurfaced.

"Let's go back to shore now. Seems a little dangerous out here," Lance said with a breathless laugh.

"I'll say. I could've drowned," Keith said.

Keith has known Lance for forever, and he knew that he seemed the same as when he first met him. He also knew it's next to impossible for people to not change, and if you're with someone while they're changing slowly, it feels like they never changed. He knew Lance changed because now he was feeling something deeper than a top notch friendship. He could see Lance was actually hot, and they could joke about it, but he was actually seriously attracted to him too.

Lance could feel something was more playful with Keith. He seemed to be glitching or something because the flirty jokes were finally getting through to him and making him nervous. Lance started to think he kept it going too long and went too far, but then Keith started returning them. Lance did get flustered easily, but he only got flustered from Keith because he's gotten so much hotter since they met. Actually, he can't remember when he met Keith because it's been so long, but since middle school, Keith has defiantly become hot.

"Ok, do you want to go home now?" Keith asked Lance when he reached the beach.

"Yeah, lets just go home. You wanna sleep at your place or mine tonight?"

"You mean we're also having a sleepover?" Keith asked with a teasing tone. "And I thought the first part of the date went well."

"Well enough to take you home."
