"This is pretty fun right now," Keith said. "Are you sure you really want to go? We could just stay here."
"Oh, we're staying here," Allura said, grabbing Shiro's hand.
"Yeah, Lance just drove us here. No way are we actually going to go swimming with sharks. I already told you I don't want my arm getting rusted," Shiro said.
"Oh, youu," Keith said while making a choking motion toward Shiro.
Lance hooked his arms around Keith's neck from behind, and Keith smiled back at him. Lance knew what Keith must've thought- that he brought Allura and Shiro to shark dive with them and ruin their summer activity.
"That's what you get for almost not coming, silly turtle duck," Lance whispered in his ear.
He felt Keith shiver a little, and they both looked out to a gathering crowd around a boat.
"Looks like our ride is here," Keith said.
"Hey! Did you need your bags?" Shiro asked.
"I'm actually glad you're here because we would've forgotten those if you weren't," Keith told him, patting his shoulder on his way to the car. "I'll meet you at the boat. I'll just grab our bags real quick and be right over there," he said to Lance.
Lance walked over the boat, watching Keith to make sure he didn't trip. He shook his head and half laughed to himself. He knew he only watched Keith cause those shorts looked good on him. What? Nothing.
"Ok, bag in clutch," Keith panted, out of breath from his short run.
"You obtained the grain," Lance confirmed.
Keith was going to say something else, but the instructor cleared her throat and tapped the mic.
"Hello, everyone. My name is Zethrid! Welcome aboard our boat- the Majesty. She's taken over five- hundred people out to see our beautiful bull sharks in the wild. Before we depart, is everyone that's supposed to be here here?" She checked her list and called out names, confirming everyone necessary was present. "Alright, lets go! Before you ever get in the water like this, there's a few things you should know. First-always be aware of your surroundings. Know where the sharks are and be sure that there are none unknowingly approaching you. Second- make eye contact with the sharks because they need to know that you see them. Third- please stay calm. They know when you are tense and scared, and it's more enjoyable when you are enjoying yourself. Lastly- always listen to your instructor because I swear they know best"
Keith gulped and looked at Lance, who was ecstatic to be doing this. Lance felt Keith looking at him, so he turned his head to meet his gaze. Keith's breath hitched when he saw how truly happy Lance's face looked. His blue eyes matched the crystal blue of the ocean right now, and that's when Keith knew that he could never leave him.
"Are you excited?" Lance asked like a little kid riding Splash Mountain in Disneyland for the first time.
"Sure am," Keith said with a sigh, again taking in the purity in Lance's face.
"Alright, everyone! We've arrived at the bull shark place, as you can tell by the fins in the water. Obviously we don't use chum to attract them because then you all would not be in a good place. We do have a profession shark handler with a bait bucket going down there right now. You all can get your wetsuits on and gear up!" Zethrid informed everyone.
"Let's go be first in line," Lance told Keith.
Keith looked around at the middle aged and old people, realizing that they were the youngest there.
"Boy, this would be an awesome first date," Lance said offhandedly.
Keith sputtered and blushed. "Yeah, it would be! Haha we could just count it as one, so we can say we had the coolest first date ever," Keith said, hoping to catch Lance off guard and make him sputter and blush.
Lance knew what Keith was trying to do and simply said, "Yeah let's just do that."
He looked back at his friend trying to pull on his wetsuit and almost slipping in the process. He rushed and grabbed him before he fell, effectively sweeping him off his feet.
"Thanks, Lance. I could've been shark bait just now."
"Oh! A tiger shark was just spotted! Those are getting rarer and rarer," Zethrid announced.
"Come on, Keith! Put on your flippers and let's go already. Tiger shark!" Lance begged.
They were led to the back of the boat where they quietly slipped in the water. Immediately Keith felt surrounded. He remembered that Zethrid said to keep yourself aware, so he was spinning to make sure he could see all the sharks. Where they were taken wasn't super deep because you could easily see the soft-looking sand below.
Lance tapped Keith and pointed at a shark with striped patterns. He made the hand gestures for a mind explosion. His eyes were so big it was obvious how cool this was to him. Knowing that Lance was at peace, excited even, being with the sharks calmed Keith down. He was still spinning because that was something Zethrid had said to do when your surrounded by sharks.
Keith looked around and Lance had swum a bit away from him, but he was looking back and motioning for Keith to join him near the bait box. That's where the tiger was, so naturally he'd wanted to get closer.
Lance really wanted to interact with the sharks and touch their noses. The guy manning the bait box seemed to be having fun. Lance was watching him play with the sharks, and his attention was so focused he barely noticed that the tiger had come to check him out. He put his hand to its sensitive snout to keep it from getting too close.

Keith watched Lance play with the tiger and nearly fainted. He kept swimming nearer to Lance but hoped he didn't catch any shark's attention. He didn't catch a shark's attention, but he sure did catch Lance's. Lance pointed to the shark that was interacting with him and smiled widely then made
"It's beautiful," Keith said to himself in his head.

"That was the coolest thing ever, right Keith?" Lance asked while holding Keith's shoulders.
"Yeah, that was the coolest," Keith said, half daydreaming now that Lance was so close. "Coolest date ever, am I right?"
Lance just laughed and went to take off his wetsuit. Keith ran his hands through his hair and went to do the same.
When they were both done, Lance asked, "You wanna go swimming like just at the beach when we get back? We already have our swimsuits, and we didn't really go swimming a lot this summer."
