"It's fine if you feel uncomfortable," Aizawa told Shoto, while walking into an empty room after school. He pulled up a chair and sat on another one, so they faced each other. "We should have more privacy now. Whenever you're ready."

Shoto shifted uncomfortably in his chair. It didn't feel right sharing Bakugo's private information without his permission, especially with the topic so heavy. Where would he even start? Probably when he found Bakugo smoking on the roof.

"I went up to the roof," Shoto managed to get out. The pressure was on. He spoke slowly and unsurely.

"I went a different way than I normally do, and then I caught the scent of smoke. So I followed it, and it eventually led to Bakugo, who I found smoking. It was at one of the camera blind spots. I confronted him about it, but he didn't care at all. He convinced me to try a cigarette, and I did. Eventually we hung out to smoke routinely."

Aizawa scribbled down some notes while the bicolor-haired student broke into a sweat from nervousness. "And did you do anything other than smoking? Did you talk? What did you talk about?" His voice didn't carry a hint of surprise.

"One time he did talk about his best friend that committed suicide... He called him 'Deku.' Uh... he also convinced me to go to therapy. I think he wasn't proud of smoking, because he told me that I wouldn't be a 'loser' anymore if I quit. His home life..."

'Is almost exactly like mine.'

Or so he wanted to say. Instead, he just went back to telling the story as it was.

"His mother wants him to be 'perfect.' He gets punishments if he doesn't meet her criteria. His dad doesn't hurt him but he doesn't do anything to help him either. At least, that's what he told me. I've never seen it with my own eyes."

"Mhm........" Aizawa tilted his head up from the notepad. "Why didn't you tell anyone about this before?"

Shoto stayed silent for about a minute. "I didn't think the heroes or police would do anything." He felt somewhat bad saying that in front of a hero, but it was the truth.

"Why?"

"Because..." Telling his reasoning would mean having to share his backstory as well. He could make it vague, but that would likely raise the suspicion of him lying. He could risk it, he'd rather have his past locked away a little longer.

"I know somebody who was in a similar situation. The police nor the heroes helped him... He did get better though. I thought maybe it might heal the more time passed by, but now I'm wrong."

He could tell Aizawa already didn't believe him, but he didn't raise any questions either. The erasure-quirk user put away the notepad and stood up.

"Thank you for your time, Todoroki," Aizawa said solemnly, opening the door for the student. "You can go now."

The heterochromia-eyed male gave a small nod and walked out.

"Wait, before you go," Aizawa said, remembering a conversation he had the day before. "The doctors say Bakugo might wake up today or tomorrow."
