It shocked Shoto when Bakugo said that he saw him talking with the rest of the class. He thought nobody else was listening in.

When he was asking how they could all move past his suicide so easily.

They said it wasn't.

They said they wanted Bakugo to feel better, to be more comfortable. Washing away the uneasiness at school was the only way they could help him, so that's what they did.

They wanted to know the whole story, but they didn't want to ask Bakugo.

It was amazing how considerate they were. To Shoto, at least. He felt a little left out.

So in the end, he told them. Everything, from beginning to end. Even he knew that sharing such private information without permission was wrong, but something told him Bakugo wouldn't mind.

Shoto did want to tell them about his story too, his family, hatred, and everything in between. But as long as he continued therapy, he figured those problems would resolve on it's own, even if it took decades.

Thinking of those thoughts, Shoto went back downstairs, walking through the halls. He peered through the 1-A window, where he could see Bakugo and the rest talking.

Shoto couldn't read lips or hear a word they were saying. So everything that was being said remained a mystery to him. Although, he did hope that Bakugo was closing ties with them, like he said he would.

Shoto also had to keep his promise as well. In all honesty, standing up to his father was almost unthinkable to him. So ridiculous he almost laughed for the first time in years.

It would probably add to the large amount of mental scars he already had. But mental scars can heal.

Not all of them, but enough so that he wouldn't constantly be drowning in terrible thoughts. He could finally keep his head above the water.

Without doing harmful things to his body.

Like smoking.

Smoking was like a lifeboat to him and Bakugo. A lifeboat that always sank after a while.

Whenever he look at somebody smoking in the streets or driving by a store that sold them, an urge to light one himself nearly took control of his body every time.

Even now, when he had left school.

He held back that feeling, and told himself over and over that he couldn't. Shoto would turn therapy into his new cigarette, but a healthier, better version. If Bakugo could change, so could he.

Shoto smiled for once, when he thought of how much his life changed. He didn't even realize it.

A natural, reflexive smile that nobody saw or knew of. Not even when the car window reflection mirrored his face back at him, did he notice the change.
