For what seemed like the first time in forever, the 1-A classroom was buzzing with chatter again.
It was filled with hope and excitement since that was the day Bakugo was coming back to school. Shoto watched everybody talk with a nervous cheerfulness from his seat in the back.
Time seemed to slow down the moment Bakugo actually stepped in, though. All heads were turned to the front of the room, staring intently at the blond.
A simple speech came from Aizawa, telling everyone to give him a little bit of space while he adjusts back to the school schedule.
Bakugo himself didn't say anything, he walked like he normally would to his seat, with the exception of everybody's eyes on the bandage wrapped around his neck.
The temperature dropped significantly as day came to a start. Shoto wasn't the only one trying hard not to pay attention to Bakugo.
This made Shoto feel connected to his classmates somehow. He could 'relate' to the emotions they were feeling. That relation made him feel a bit more human.
His connection with Bakugo was an entirely different thing. Shoto didn't know what he was thinking or feeling after coming back to school.
He never tried suicide himself, so he couldn't know.
Shoto felt an urge to learn Bakugo's emotions.
Or rather, he wanted to learn more human emotions.
But as the day went on, it seemed like any other day. Every passing period slowly melted away the tension that was built up when they were waiting on Bakugo's recovery.
Shoto couldn't understand it.
How could they move on so quickly?
Shoto was unconsciously stuck with the mindset that he could never move on. That he shouldn't move on. From his father, his mother, his left side. It applied to a lot of things.
And now, why was everybody acting so normal?
1-A is Bakugo's class, the class with people he was closest with, and yet they move on the fastest, unlike Shoto, and unlike the rest of the school.
He wanted to feel that way too.
Shoto was jealous of them.
