Narrator’s POV
“HELLO!” Japan shouted loudly in her room, knowing she was home alone. She had purposely chased away her brother for this chapter, who actually happily left to spend some time with his friend China. And knowing siblings, any excuse to get away from each other is more than enough.
“Yes, this is when I get to talk to you all. Well,” Japan paused rethinking her wording in the sentence. “I reply back to comments, questions, it's not like a direct back and forth.”
To get herself back on track she clapped her hands and started with the obvious topic of question; age and school.
“So school is a little different, I’m sure you’ve noticed. You don’t really stop after a certain amount of years, you keep going depending on how well you are in the subject and how well you can handle the topic on your own and it’s not really an everyday thing. Its sort of like collage, with occasional classes weekly or maybe every other day. We have classes based on agriculture, what form of government the country follows, the environment, how to preserve it, and technology. You can't really force a country to attend them, but it is noticeable when a country lacks in the class. There's even countries that teach classes, but UN is the one who tries to make everything run smoothly. You can kind of see him as like a principal or mayor since his work and duties extend beyond the school.”
She tapped her chin trying to think of other differences or trying to remember if she missed anything.
“Age, well, I guess that’s another thing I believe Russia kind of covered slightly in a thought thing when he and America were kidnapped by those tribes,” Japan looked up to the ceiling, imagining that’s where the voice of the narrator would come from like one does while looking up to God. “Am I allowed to talk about that?”
Expecting some sort of voice she waited there for a second, mainly because the narrator did not want to respond. They were still upset that Japan can break free from the story when she wants.
“Oh hush, you love me. I bet you never got to talk to anybody before I came along.”
The narrator would have been fine with this. Never the less, Japan should know what to and what not to talk about according to the plot of the story and what must not be disclosed yet to not take away excitement and mystery of future chapters.
“Ah,” Japan snapped her fingers. “Got it. Avoid that for suspense,” she wiggled around her fingers for a dramatic effect.
“So,” she started to pace around her room to help her concentrate, “age is different for each country. Some could have been around for centuries and appear to be younger, like America he’s been around for how long now? But he appears to be a young adult or a teenager. And Russia, he hasn’t been around as long as him, but he appears older than him. It depends on the situation the country is in, and what is best for survival, almost.
“Like me and my brother, after our mom died we had to grow up fast in order to survive. That’s usually how it happens, a countries parent, or parents die, and they have no choice but to grow up. I’ve dealt with what happened, and I'm trying to look on the brighter side of things,” Japan smiled happily. “I’m doing well, both of us are actually. Sunrise, he um. He hasn’t moved on completely, he actually holds a grudge against America. He doesn’t hate him, we both enjoy his culture, but he can't move on.”
To lighten the mood a little she perked up and said, “well hey, someone did ask how my family is like. So, there! A little insight, but just coming from me Sunrise is really annoying and totally tries to stop my shipping plans like a jerk. Little does he know, I know he likes China and I'm trying to help them get together so he can shut up.”
