DO YOU MIND IF I STEAL

you away for the afternoon, l/n-san?❞ the other well-known half&half, todoroki shoto, asked her as she loaded her books into her bag.

she turned down her music, looking at him for a moment with a blank stare before breaking out into a lopsided grin. ❝i don't see why not, i'm not busy. sure, todoroki.❞ she wasn't close with the boy, having talked maybe once or twice because of school projects, so she was interested to see what he wanted.

❝thank you, l/n-san,❞ he dipped his multicolored head slightly, a tiny bow of appreciation. y/n stepped to him and chuckled, patting his shoulder as she slung her backpack over her shoulder.

no need to be so formal with me, todoroki. we're friends. you can call me y/n, if you'd like,❞ she gave him another smile that made his stomach do flips. sure, he claimed he wasn't here to make friends at the beginning of the year, but to hear her say that? he couldn't be happier. he felt so drawn to her that anything she said would make his insides fill with butterflies.

❝ah, of course. you may call me shoto, if you want,❞ he adverted his gaze to the wall of the classroom, his nervousness eating away at the confidence he once had. she had such a strong affect on the boy who was deemed emotionless.

hmm. shoto. i like it.❞ she tested his name out, loving how sweet it came rolling off her tongue. he felt himself start to flush but quickly used his ice quirk to cool himself off. he had to keep his composure.

well, we should get going now. i don't want to keep you waiting forever, shoto,❞ she spoke as she brushed a strand of hair behind her ear, smirking at him as he checked her out. she knew she was hot and captured the attention of males and females alike, so this didn't phase her one bit. though, she never thought it'd be him doing the looking, as he himself looked absolutely delectable.

as they walked out into the corridor side by side, an ash-blond figure stopped them in their path, glaring at the half&half duo.

y/n. why are you with stupid icy-hot.❞ his question sounded betrayed in a way, a menacing glare on his face— he looked as if he wanted to kill the candy cane haired boy. his fists clenched and unclenched, brain running a mile and minute trying to figure out what he should do next.

but, as usual, y/n wasn't phased in the slightest. she quirked a brow and crossed her arms, ❝i don't think that concerns you. now if you excuse us, we need to get going,❞ she uncrossed her arms and intertwined her fingers with the boy beside her, tugging him along, past her childhood friend. she knew how to get to him riled up.

shoto gave a small smirk in triumph and confidence, grasping her hand, relishing in how soft and petite they seemed to be. he knew it pissed katsuki off to his very core and that made him all the happier. he be damned if he said this wasn't one of the best moments in his life.

ASKING ME OUT THEN GOING OFF WITH HIM?! YOU'RE SUCH A WHORE, Y/N!❞ his gruff voice rang out in the hallway. the half&half girl stiffened, stopping in place. she let go of shoto's hand softly, turning to the boy that just insulted her. bakugou regretted it instantly seeing her hurt and angered expression. she was never angry. but he had no control of his words, his jealousy turning into anger. he hated that he was this way. he didn't want to hurt her. yet, that was all he ever seemed to do.

a whore? really?❞ he stayed silent, his lips pressing into a thin line to keep him from saying anything else.

just a reminder, i do as i please. so, back the fuck off, bakugou.❞ she spat out at him as she glared into his shocked ruby eyes as her own e/c orbs held sadness, tears welling up ever so slightly, on the edge of her waterline. she had never used his last name, not once does he remember her saying it — especially not with venom laced in her tone. she always used a nickname, his first name, or pet names. in the back of his head, he was worried he pushed her too far, yet his vision was still red as he seethed with his usual anger.

y/n had never snapped at katsuki before, always being patient and understanding with the anger he harbored inside. but today, she couldn't take it. not when he didn't want her. actually, no— not when he couldn't admit the feelings he so clearly had. it frustrated her beyond belief. he couldn't even be honest with himself, and that made her so irritated. at this rate, if she just comforted him and left shoto, explaining everything to him, he wouldn't change. he needed this push.

katsuki didn't move, not uttering a word out— he was rendered speechless because of her response, trying to be rational. he was trying so hard not to make matters worse, his fingernails biting into his palm, small crescent patterns would surely be found later.

y/n clicked her tongue, grabbing shoto's hand again as they walked out of the school. the boy with a scar on his face didn't know what was happening, but he didn't dare ask. he didn't want to offend the usually laid back girl — especially if she snapped at her closest friend.

though he did wonder what was going through her mind. to him and to everyone else, this girl was a mystery. all they knew about her was her name, and a brief explanation of her quirk. they knew that she was a childhood friend of katsuki and izuku, but nothing else of her past. she was unreadable.

her next words made todoroki rather confused, even though he knew they weren't directed to him. she mumbled them under her breath to herself, furrowing her eyebrows as she glared at nothing in particular, tears almost dropping from her dazzling e/c eyes.

it's  for  his  own  good.
