*Nishinoya's POV*

I had rushed to the hospital as soon as it was possible, I arrived at the reception desk where the receptionist looked at me.

"How may I help you?" She asked.

"I'm here to see Azumane Kumi." I told the woman. And she kindly told me the room number. I quickly found the room and carefully opened the door.

Kumi was awake and Asahi was sitting on a chair next to her bed. Kumi saw me first, she gave me a sweet smile.

"Nishinoya, how sweet of you to visit me." Her voice was hoarse, but her smile was still as sweet as ever. She gestured towards them,

"Come in, sit down." She told me, and I did. After I sat down, we started talking. She explained what happened earlier when she collapsed. And I was truly impressed.Even after all of that, she was still smiling.

She wasn't sulking or wallowing in self pity, I found that strong.

We talked until visiting hours were over then Asahi and I left he didn't want to, but kumi insisted.

For the next few days, I kept Asahi company in his house. My mother had come back from her trip but I explained and she told me it was nice of me to be so thoughtful so she let me stay. While I was at school, Asahi stayed by his mothers side and after school I'd go to the hospital and spend time with kumi. It all seemed to be going well. Until it wasn't.

It was a somewhat gloomy day, the clouds were dark and the air smelled of rain it generally felt like something bad was going to happen.

I walked into the hospital to visit kumi, but when I arrived, I was hit with a wave of dread. Nurses were rushing down the hall to The room where Kumi was. They all seemed distressed and that made me uneasy.

"Calm yourself Nishinoya, it could be for someone else." Oh how I wished I was right.

When I got to kumi's room, I found Asahi in tears and the door to the room closed.

I immediately rushed to Asahi's side.

"Asahi? What...what happened?"

He looked up at me, his eyes red and puffy, he was hurting so much.

And that pained me as well.

"We were talking...and she, she closed her eyes and-" Asahi's voice broke, and I hugged him tightly. To my surprise he hugged me back.

I wasn't doing any better, salty tears rolled down my cheeks and I tried to hold back a sob, but the tears kept coming. Kumi may not have been my mother, but she was like one to me. She was always kind, and supportive — she treated me like her own son.

We stayed like that for who knows how long, it could've been a few minutes or a few hours, it felt like time was irrelevant.

We let go when the doctor came out of the room, his face gaunt.

"I'm sorry to say, but Miss Asahi Kumi has passed away."

At that moment, it felt like the world stopped.

Helloooo, took long to update I know sorry, school just starteeeeed yay!

Okay but seriously, if you haven't, you have to read hqheaven works. There are absolutely amazing. Love you Hatari! 💕💖

Also if you wanted to know the disorder Kumi had was called hemolytic anemia. It's a disorder where your red blood cells are destroyed faster than they can be made. It's rarely fatal, but in this case it was. Poor Kumi.

I do my research for you guys.
