I was just sitting down to breakfast prepared to spend another day going out to public places trying to find my elusive mate when.... my butt vibrated.

"Hang on Steven my butt is vibrating." Steven shot me a weird look. We were currently at the public little breakfast room of the Tribe's.

"What?" Steven muttered with a mouth full of food.

"Gross Steven." I pulled my phone out of my butt pocket. "Ooo It's the guy I met at the park the other day." Steven's eyes turned to black and he growled into his tea. "Chill Steven it's just a girl I met at the club the other day. I was joking." I sighed and rolled my eyes. Steven slugged me a good one. "Geez Steven."

        On my phone it read:

Hey Girl! Was wondering if we could meet up for some coffee later today? -Kendra

I quickly typed back.

Sure, what time were you thinking?

How about noonish. Probably somewhere in no one's territory.....

Starbucks maybe?

Sure girl! That sounds sooo perf, I could go for a coffee right now.

Sweet see ya then.

I powered my phone off because it was about to die anyways. At least today wasn't going to be to bad since I was meeting up with a new friend. Oh wait.... there was training today wasn't there..... Well screw what I just said about it being a good day today. Steven was still eating but I figured if I didn't want Jennie to get on my butt again I should probably get there a half hour early.

I got up and threw away the little that I did not eat and stretched. Maybe a lap or two around the territory would do me good before training.

A few thousand defense stances and fighting matches later training was finally over. At least Jennie wasn't too harsh on me today. Then again, I hadn't given her a reason to. I went to my room to get my phone as it was charging and unplugged. And then I noticed the time.

It loomed before my eyes; 11:45. Crap. I had to get moving if I wanted to meet Kendra on time. Hurriedly, Ieft the house. I had to take the car which was much slower because I think if people saw a gigantic wolf in the center of the human city people might actually wet their pants. I rolled my eyes at my ancient little car and its slowness. Please little car don't fail me now.

Finally, I made it to the Starbucks in town and noticed a pretty little red sports car outside. Leave it to Kendra to be flashy. Then I thought of my old rusted bucket of a car and grimaced. Oh well. I walked into the Starbucks and inhaled. Mmmm coffee. Sounded good after a hard training, my back felt like it had just gotten run over by a locomotive. Even for a wolf the amount of stupid training we did was painful.

Kendra waved me down "Hey girl over here!" She had chosen a corner booth just like she had done at the club. Of course. "I took a liberty and already ordered us two decafs. Figured you didn't need the sugar."

"Pffft Okay Kendra Okay." I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Luckily it is still warm." I took a sip.

"Well yeah and if you had come late, cold coffee for you." I almost spit it out laughing. More than once when someone had made me laugh when I was drinking they ended up with whatever I was drinking all over them. Their fault.

"So anyways, I was wondering.. What pack are you in?"

        "Tribe Roaring Moon.. you?"

        "Tribe Snapping Rogues."

Inwardly I grimaced because all the other packs in the region had grown to shun their pack and leave them out of Alpha meetings. I had heard that the Alpha of their pack; Alpha Vixen was a witch personified. Wasn't their only three people in their pack? Who could live like that?

"Girl I saw that face. Have they been talkin' trash 'bout our pack?"

"Uhm.. was that a rhetorical question?" I certainly hoped so. Kendra sighed and just waved her hand to dismiss it.

"Anyways girl, the real reason I called you here was to discuss that napkin that had your phone number on it..."

I gulped down the last drop of coffee, "What about it?"

"Well my Alpha found it.... and she kinda freaked." Kendra shifted in her chair nervously, "I don't know why but Vixen was acting sooo weird about it. She kinda held it up to her nose and took a whiff. I swear I thought she was 'bout to bite my head off."

I looked at her curiously, "What."

"I know it sounds crazy but something is up with her. I think I have an idea but I don't think I should tell you yet.........." Kendra trailed off, deep in thought. "I know!"

"What is it now?" I sighed playfully then grinned.

"Is there any big party or meeting coming up?" Kendra looked hopeful.

"Yeah actually, they are having a masquerade at Tribe Shadow Hunter's place to celebrate Alpha Devon's retirement tomorrow." Or almost retirement as soon as Evan finds a mate. "Why?"

"I am tots gonna sneak Vixen in to meet you."

"What, Why?" She was not making any sense at all.

She looked at me with a strange glint in her eyes and trilled, "It's just a hunch that's all"

I glanced down at my watch. "Whatever you say, but I have to go now. Nice seeing you again!"

"Yeah it was so perf, see you tommorow." I silently cursed myself for telling her. On a happier note, I felt for sure that I was going to meet my mate tommorow... probably at the masquerade!
