The slow song playing through the speaker was relaxing to your ears, the familiar melody controlling your movements as you stepped on beat with the music. Goosebumps appeared all over your skin as Tamaki's soothing hand gripped your own, while his other rested at the curve of your waist, moving his body in sync with yours. Your head found comfort buried in his neck as he pulled you closer, the scent of his skin bringing you a sense of euphoria that you only truly felt around him. Tamaki stumbled a bit, as he usually did around this part of the song. However, he recovered rather quickly, matching your pace once again as the tune neared its end. The last few notes played, halting your motion and prompting you to lift your eyes to meet his.

You could immediately sense a hint of frustration on Tamaki's features, yet he tried his hardest to mask it. Nevertheless, you brought your hands to his face, bringing his mouth to yours in a sweet and tender kiss. Your lips flowed together with such practiced ease as a hint of a smile graced your countenance, the feeling of his touch still lingering even after you pulled away.

"What's wrong? It's taken a little while but you're starting to get the hang of it!"

Tamaki made it a personal mission of his to learn how to dance so that he could do it perfectly at the wedding. The old him would never agree to doing something like that in front of so many people, regardless of how close they were to him. However, his confidence in himself had grown ever since he met you, and him making an effort to actually learn was enough proof in itself. Dancing together had somehow become a part of his routine. No matter how busy you both were, you always tried to squeeze some practice time every few days until he became comfortable enough. You didn't mind it at all. Being able to relax in his arms while he slowly learned the steps was a bit therapeutic for you, and quickly became something that you looked forward to doing together every once in a while.

His eyes roamed your face, a soft smile plastered on his lips in an attempt to reassure you that he was fine. "I just can't help but feel a bit...I don't know, lost? Worried?"

Your encouraging words didn't seem to brighten up his mood as you had hoped, his face still flaunting the same expression, except with rosy cheeks and a hint of something else in his eyes that you couldn't quite gauge. Judging by his response, it seemed as though he was answering a question that he had in his own mind rather than yours.

"You have no reason to be. It's really not that big of a deal as you're making it, Tamaki. We don't even have to do-"

"No," he interrupted, "we're doing it. I know how happy it would make you and all I want is for this day to be the best. If learning how to dance so that I don't embarrass myself in front of everyone would help, then so be it." Without a second thought, he wrapped his arms around you, bringing you into a tight hug. You melted in his grasp, breathing in his scent as his hands squeezed your body. What you thought was a hug out of love was really out of guilt. If only you could see the thoughts swirling around in his head at that moment, maybe you would've found out what he was doing his best to hide from you sooner. At least then you would've realized just how much pain he was in.

Everyone's quirks had some type of drawback, most worse than others. On top of that, doing certain things while your quirk was activated could cause it to accidentally backfire against you without even realizing it. Tamaki had seen it happen to so many people, yet he'd thought his own quirk would be the reason he was so troubled. Amidst the joy of his upcoming proposal to you, he began to feel a bit more sluggish than usual. Being a hero, he knew his own body and limits well, and so he knew that what he was beginning to feel like wasn't normal. It wasn't long before he actually found out what was wrong with him, and the news was something that no one would've expected.
