Wasn't It Worth It?

Wasn’t it worth it?

There will always be something

To feel sorry about.

Their lives seem perfect,

And yours... filled with doubt.

The bitter mistakes

That you let define you.

You struggle against them,

And still they confine you.

Try as you might

You’ve never known

Just one thing

To call your own.

One thing at which

You’re better than all.

But alright, that’s okay

Before you walk you must crawl.

One step at a time

It’s been a nice journey to get here.

But now, just inches away

You’re going nowhere.

The last bit’s the hardest

When you feel like giving up.

But in the end it’s worth it,

No matter what.

No regrets here,

Your life isn’t empty.

You have more than enough,

In fact you have plenty.

This is another poem I wrote when I was maybe twelve years old. Poetry was like my saviour back then so this one means a lot to me. That's why I decided not to edit it.

Hope you enjoyed it!
