Squeals of laughter could be heard throughout the entire Hidden Cloud. Some villagers laughed at the unfortunate soul who fell victim this time. The Sun and Shadow duo were at it again. Boruto raced across buildings along with his twin who laughed at the ninjas chasing them. It was early in the morning but the village was used to being woken up like that. The peals of children's laughter could make any soul happy.
Boruto slid into his front yard and came to a bruising halt. Shikadai came in more slowly and only smirked at the ninjas who were stopped at the entrance. They were covered in hot pink paint along with green slime. "Next time we'll catch you." They promised like always.
"And we'll be faster." The twins said in unison. It was like this everyday. The pranks weren't done in malicious intent. Infact both parties benefitted from the arrangement. The ninjas got to have some fun before they went out for work and the twins got in a morning run. There was no harsh feelings.
"See you next time." The ninjas waved as they went away to get cleaned.
"Bye!" Boruto yelled waving madly while Shikadai waved.
They headed inside to see their parents cooking and getting some work done. "Morning mayhems." Naruto greeted as he looked up from his laptop.
"Morning Dad!" They greeted before they hobbled into the kitchen for their mother who was looking over breakfast.
"Did you guys warm up?" Shikamaru asked as he stirred the mixture. They nodded in unison and hugged his legs.
"What's for breakfast this time." Boruto asked rocking on his feet.
"Smells like porridge." Shikadai stated. Shikamaru nodded at his look alike in everything but eyes. Shikadai bore Naruto's eyes, they both did.
"Wash up quickly and come back down so I can dry your hair." Naruto said to them and they rushed off.
As they showered they kept poking each other in the back. On their back was proof of their birthright. The kanji for Fox/Kitsune in red. Their mother had it and so did their father. "Every time I look at this, it just reminds me of how cool Kaa-chan and Tou-chan are." Boruto said in awe as he stared at Shikadai's own.
"Their so powerful, I wanna be smart like Kaa-chan and strong like Tou-chan." Shikadai said remembering a fight he witnessed with his parents front and center. They were no more than five at the time and the memory stuck like glue in his mind.
They hurried out with towels around their necks, their father was sitting in the sofa waiting for them with their hair brushes. Naruto made quick work of them and soon they were seated at the table. Boruto and Shikadai talked about tomorrow's prank while they waited for their father to clear the table of his work. Shikamaru made several entrances to deliver the food to the table.

Once everyone was seated breakfast began. Naruto had received a rather important email before the boys came out of the bathroom. He looked over at his family and sighed, Shikamaru was the first to respond to the sound. "What's wrong Naruto?"
