i was so shooketh that my phone slipped off from my hands. "wHAT ON EARTH BRO"

"WE JUST CAUGHT A GROUP OF GANGSTERS"

"okay? how does that concern me?"

"tHEY WERE THE ONES IN THE ARCADE- WHO BEAT UP THAT HYUNJOON GUY"

"oh.. good for them to get caught then."

"BUT THAT HYUNJOON GUY'S PARENTS REPORTED HIM MISSING"

"WHAT"

i ran up to him, holding both of his shoulders. "HYUNJOON'S MISSING?!"

"yeah! why are you so worried─"

"nope. let's go look for him right now. he said he's at his fucking house and now.."

i then heard him scoff. "see? he's a liar."

i glared at him. "he lied just this once, ain. he must've lied for a reason."

"still─"

"ain, i don't wanna argue with you. let's just search for him."

he crossed his arms, blocking the doorway. "you're still grounded. you are not going anywhere."

"but hyun─"

he sighed, placing a hand on my shoulder. "i see that you're worried about him. but i'm worried about you too.." his soft gaze made me soften too.

it's been so long since he gave me that look.

"i can see that you're happy when you're with him. i know you like him. but when i saw him in that beaten up condition, i was scared that you might end up like that too.." he looked at me with worried eyes.

"but if you trust him that much, i understand. i'll think about trusting him too." he gave me a small smile.

"just stay here. i'll find him for you. i'm sure he's safe somewhere."

he then gave me a hug before saying goodbye & leaving the house.

i sighed & sat back down on my bed.

i bit my lower lip. just messaging him won't work.

i decided to sneak out the house and go to school, to seek help from jana, jongho, & hyunjin.

i wore my hoodie and jogging pants & ran out my room. i quickly wore my shoes on as i looked at the time. it's still lunch.

i ran out the house, not forgetting to lock the front door. i then grabbed ain's bike and rode it going to school.

i arrived & ran in the gates since the guards are not really paying attention since they're also having lunch.

i ran up the stairs, and on the hallways, pushing some students that's on my way.

"jana!" i exclaimed as i arrive at our classroom.

i leaned on the door, catching my breath. "airi?" she ran up to me.

"are you okay?"

i shook my head. "w-we need to find hyunjoon.." i said between pants.

she furrowed her brows. "what?"

"h-he's missing. help me find him."

i then saw jongho stand up from his seat, making his way to us. "hyunjoon is missing?" he asked.

i nodded, "aren't you worried?"

he gave me a slight smile as he saw my worried face. "he'll be just.. fine." he tapped my shoulder before going back to his seat and sleep.

why does he look so unsure when he said hyunjoon's gonna be just 'fine'?
