Inside the bar everything was bustling with noise and movement. Far over in the corner you could spot the rest of the group, Rossi was sitting at the far end of the booth amusedly chatting to spencer and Derek as JJ and Prentiss were talking to the barman bringing in the first round of drinks. Hotch had decided to pass on tonight's entertainment to spend some quality family time at home with Jack so was nowhere to be seen. Making your way down you clocked Spencer's face light up as he saw you, Derek getting up to greet the both of you.

"Ladies, ladies, ladies, looking damn fine as usual I see"

"and you look good enough to eat sweet cheeks " Garcia replied and winked, their usual routine beginning, which you chose to ignore passing them to talk to Rossi and spencer.

"Hey guys, started without us I see", you motioned back over to JJ and Emily ordering.

"Don't worry bella, we couldn't forget you two, your favourite drinks are on the way" Rossi replied smoothly.

"ah grazie" you smirked "and out of curiosity, just what is my favourite drink?"

"If I remember correctly, and I'm pretty sure I do thanks to my rather handy eidetic memory, you told me last year at the Christmas party that you have always loved tequila sunrises" spencer replied pleased with himself, not in an arrogant kind of way but in a sweet way as he had remembered something you had said to him so long ago, something that you had completely forgotten telling him.

"My my Dr Reid you are definitely in my good books tonight" you flirtily retorted before slipping into the booth next to him.

"Oh and by the way y/n, I agree with Derek, you really do look beautiful tonight"

You turned to meet his eyes and tilted your head slightly, grinning as you did so. He was gazing at you so intently, studying your features like he was admiring a painting. Looking you up and down his eyes wandered over your body, the silk of your dress accentuating your figure perfectly before focusing his stare on your lips. You could tell that behind his eyes his mind was going a mile a minute, thinking of all the things he could do to you.... what you could do to him. My, my you thought to yourself how bold exactly is spencer gonna get tonight?

"Am I interrupting something here?" Rossi chuckled, snapping you both out of your trance, yet before either of you could answer the rest of the team were back with the drinks. Passing them along the table your hand accidentally met Spencer's while reaching for another glass to move down, his hand lingered for a second before passing the glass onto Penelope. His touch was slight and soft making your stomach flutter, you felt silly getting worked up over something so small but you couldn't help it, Spencer just did something to you.

From then on the next hour was filled with laughter, alcohol and stolen glances. You were having such a good time before being pulled away by Emily to a group of guys wanting to buy you both drinks. You obliged on the one condition that it would only be one drink and then you could come back to the table. It's ironic really you thought to yourself, you came here in the hopes of something like this happening but now it actually was you were disappointed to be dragged away from spencer, the one person you were trying to forget about.

The guys were nice enough, they probably would have been good company if you weren't so focused on Spencer looking like a lost sheep, occasionally looking over to make sure you were okay. Hastily you sipped on your drink, willing it to disappear as quickly as possible without seeming to be rude. While taking the last few sips you decided that you had been a good wing woman for long enough and quietly apologized, making the excuse that you had to go to the bathroom and then go back to your other friends. Getting up you felt a sudden grip on your wrist pull you back down, this made you twist round to face whoever was holding you. He looked angry which only made you pull back harder, this time gaining a distressed look from Emily who told him to cool off.

In a drunken slur the guy murmured something about being a tease, slipping up on every other word that came out of his mouth, refusing to let you go.

Just as fast as those words had left his mouth Spencer was out of his seat, putting a hand on your shoulder protectively before lowly and calmly ordering the guy to let go. The hand stayed put.

"Do I have to spell it out for you or something? I said let go of her"

He lifted his grip causing you to draw back your hand sharply, grimacing at the red mark that had formed there, you hadn't realised he was holding you that tightly. Taking one look at your wrist spencer remained composed and put you behind him, his breathing staggered and harsh.

"Somebody get this guy out of here before I do something I'll regret "

The rest of the team had been watching from behind, only now realising what was going on and seeing that spencer was resisting the urge to resolve the situation without his words. Derek rushed over to escort the guy out of the bar and hopefully somewhere he could sober up.
