After being rudely awoken by the ringing sound of your alarm you groaned, pleading with the powers that be to stop time and let you sleep for just a little longer. Then when that didn't work you sluggishly pulled yourself out from your heavenly bed and dragged your feet all the way into the kitchen wincing your eyes at the light streaming through the half open blinds. Pouring yourself a glass of water you remembered why you were awake at this ungodly hour.... spencer. The thought of seeing him made your thumping head feel slightly better, you couldn't recall drinking that much last night but then again you were a lightweight.

Damn, was that the time already? Glancing over at the clock on the microwave you noted that it was 09:32am and that spencer would be arriving in less than half an hour. You seriously needed to get ready.

Throwing on a pair of lightwash high-waisted jeans and a vintage oversized nike sweater you swept half of your hair up securing it with a large clip, letting a few wispy strands frame your face. Deciding on simple makeup you applied mascara and blush, finishing by putting on a small pair of dangly butterfly earings. Satisfied with the look you pulled on a pair of red converses as a knock came from the front door. Immediately you smiled, rushing to the door to greet your eagerly awaited company.

Flinging the door open you revealed spencer standing there with a large grin in baggy jeans and a purple checkered shirt over a pain white tee. It was somewhat strange to see him in casual clothes but you liked it, you really did, it suited him.

"Your chariot awaits sleeping beauty, I hope you're not too hung over from last night as I've got a full day planned for us" he chirped motioning to his car parked along the road

"Well I am a little but after some coffee I'm all yours prince charming" You winked at him closing the door behind you letting him lead you to your "chariot".

The car ride was pleasant as always but it certainly wasn't as, shall we say, interesting as last nights journey. Spencer had you laughing all the way to a quiet diner nestled into the corner of a bustling marketplace. Showing you through the door your hand in his you were greeted with so many wonderful smells, fresh coffee brewing, pancakes with maple syrup and bacon were all making you increasingly hungry. Finding a booth over the far side, away from all the regulars you sat down, scanning the menus for anything that sparked your interest. Everything looked so nice, indecisiveness was one of your less likeable qualites and at the moment it was shining through. From the corner of your eye you could see Spencer staring at you, not realising you had noticed he kept staring until you looked up and passed him the menu.

"Surprise me" you said spontaneously

"sure thing, I know just what to get...."

Cutting him off accidentally a bubbly waitress with a nametag that read "willow" came up to your table flipping her notepad before reciting the usual waitress lines.

"Are y'all ready to order here or do y'all need some more time?"

"Yep, we sure are" spencer replied with a grin on his face

"Okay sweetie what can I get y'all?"

"The lady and I will both have the maple french toast with a side of bacon"

The waitress nodded and smiled scribbling it down.

"Oh and some coffee please"

A final nod came and she walked away, surprisingly spencer had nailed your order which you guessed you shouldn't have been too shocked at since he knew more about than you than you had even realised he paid attention to.

"So how did I do?"

"10/10, I'm impressed"

The both of you finished your food quickly once it came and had sipped the last drops of coffee from the comically large ceramic cups the diner used. The conversation had slowed down and had taken a turn to deeper topics, ones that you could imagine listening to him talk about forever. The way he spoke about things so passionately, dropping random statistics every now and again made your heart smile. You knew it was cheesy but it didn't matter.

"Now that I've dragged on for long enough what do you say we get to what I have planned next for us"

"Any hints on what that might be?"

"Ah that would only spoil that fun" he teased, leaving the money and tip on the table.

"Hey, let me go halves!" you insisted

"I would but please y/n this is my treat"

Begrudgingly you agreed and left the diner, excited at what else Spencer ad up his sleeve.
