Making it

Thomas's Pov~

Everythig was happening to fast I was going to be a runner. Alby told everyone there would be a gathering tonight once the rest of the runners came back. I didnt think about anything in that moment except for how happy I was then everyone started to clear out and all my thoughts went to NEWT.

Looking over I realized Newt wasnt at the garden working. Actually I havent seen him since this morning.

"Hey Zart where is Newt." I asked walking over

"Newt I havent seen that shank since this morning." He said

That could only mean one thing he was probably in the forest somewhere. Walkig past Zart I headed toward the forest. I had to find him I didnt know what I was going to say but I need to find him.

"Newt! Newt!"

There was no reply so I just kept walking. I sat down finally realizing how tierd I was. I knew Newt had to be in the spot we fell asleep last night.

"Newt!" I just had to try one more time. But again no reply

"Look Newt I know you wont reply but I just I had to try and I made it I'm a runner but I promise no matter what ill make it back everynight," I said trying to find if he was even in here "I promise."

Then there was a sniffle and I stood up a little to fast but leaned into the tree. Then he was there his eyes all puffy and he was breathing heavy. But he wouldn't look at me he'd only look at the ground. I walk over tryin not to startle him and put my finger under his wet chin and lifted up his head.

He immediately looked into my eyes. His still puffy.

"I dont want you in there."

"I know."

"Its not safe and I cant loss you."

"Ill be by Minho the whole time, but now we need to get to the gathering."

He nodded his head then took me into a tight imbrace and barried his head in my neck because I was a little taller than him. We stayed like this for a minute or two then I took his hand and we walked as we did that morning to the hammocks then I pecked him and we both walked different ways.

Newt Pov~

I was so mad at Tommy but I knew Minho would take care of him. When I got to the gathering everyone was there already.

"Nice of you to join us." Alby said I just nodded my head and went to stand by him.

"Alright now that everyones here we can start the gathering," he paused before going on. "This shank right here," he said pointing at Tommy. "Has finish all his jobs including runner and at 8 minutes he complited his task of runner and wasnt even out of breath, so all in favor of making the shank a runer raise a hand."

It made me sick to my stomach when nearly everyone raised there hands. Alby asked the ones that didnt raise a hand what they thought even though it didn't matter he'd become a runner.

"alright then starting tomorrow this shank will start running with Minho." Then everyone started to cheer and there were laughs that I hadnt heard in a while I loved it. I look and saw Tommy wasnt sitting anymore but that all the boys had picked him up over there heads and were carrying him out. All I could do was smile.

Dinner went by fast and we were all in bed quick. After a little while when everyone was asleep I turned to see Tommy wasnt in his hammock. Then I was a figure at one of the walks walking. I ran out as fast as I could and tackled him.

"Ow Newt what are you doing."

"I missed you."

"okay I missed you to but what are you doin out here."

"couldnt sleep."

"Me either."

I kissed him liked I never kissed him before still laying on top of him. The kiss was deep as we pulled each other closer if even possible. Then I broke away.

"you should get sleep day one tomorrow." He only nodded and we went back to the trees and I pecked his lips then went and layed in my hammock falling asleep with the taste of his lips still on mine.
