Today was the day. As i got ready that morning my stomach was in knots, i was giddy with excitement, my hands were shaking as i tied my shoe laces. We left for kings cross station at about 11 O' clock. Dad flashed me a smile as he sat down behind the steering wheel. "Excited Sylvia?," he asked, i nodded as a huge smile spread across my face.
The drive seemed to take ages, but we also got there a lot quicker then i had expected. we sat in silence for the majority of the drive, my nerves barely allowing me to form sentences. Dad parked the car and took my trunks out of the boot. The station was busy. My father had instructed me on how we would get onto platform nine and three quarters, although i don't think i entirely believed him until we ran full speed through a brick wall.
It seemed like we had entered an entirely different world. Families of all kinds were huddled on the platform saying there goodbyes. Directly in front of us was a gleaming bright red steam train puffing large amounts of smoke out every couple of minutes.
I turned around to face dad, for almost a split second i thought he might cry. we said our goodbyes and he instructed me again on what i would do when i boarded the train. "You must look for a group of red headed children, do you understand? I know the weasleys through work, they are a wonderful group of people." I insured my father once again that i knew what to do.
I began to make my way over to the blinding steam train. As i reached the door i turned around and gave him one final wave goodbye which he returned. I turned back around and entered the train.
Trying my best to follow my fathers instructions, i began to peer into each compartment looking for the red headed children my father had told me about. after looking through a few carriages i saw a large group of people sat chatting away. they clearly knew one another, over half of them were ginger, they are obviously related i told myself. My fears got the better of me, and i decided to let them get on with it rather then intrude, i knew this would have upset my dad but i didn't care in the moment.
After skipping the busier compartments, i peered my head into the very last one. Sat in there was a blonde haired boy, he had fair skin and was looking out the window. The boy noticed me staring and turned to me. he had piercing silver eyes. He was very attractive. "Can i help you?"
