I tried my best to concentrate on my homework in the dorm, but my mind kept wondering to other places. Draco Malfoy, the most stubborn man alive asking for my help, it made no sense, and why me i just-
"you okay sylvia?" i lifted my head quickly to see hermione staring at me curiously. "oh yeh i'm fine," i said busing myself with my homework, my cheeks began to flare up a sick pink colour. The next few hours passed painfully slow, i felt nervous and i didn't know why. my stomach had dropped, and i felt a lump forming in my throat. 10 pm rolled around and the nervous lump was growing by the minute. i threw my gryffindor jumper on, and twisted my hair into a small bun. I grabbed my bag and textbook, and gave a quick last glance at the room. all the girls where fast asleep, the sound of hushed breathing filled the dorm. I quickly ran down the stairs, through the common room and out the door into the hallway.
The castle was dead silent, creepy even. my soft footsteps bounced off every wall. I made my way over to the slytherin common room, taking my time as it wasn't quite 10:30 yet. I eventually found myself at the dungeon, standing at the slytherin door. I uttered the password which Draco had told me and the it flung open. The common room was slightly smaller than the gryffindor one, Draco was sprawled out on the deep green velvet sofa, with his arms stretched out either side. He was staring deeply into the green embers of the fire. He noticed me standing in the door way and turned to face me, "ah you came," he said calmly, shifting on the sofa slightly to make a place for me to sit. "if i'm being honest i wasn't sure you were gonna show." he said laughing slightly. "that makes two of us then," i giggled flashing him a small smile. I walked over and sat on the sofa next to him, throwing my bag at my feet. I pulled my book and quill out before crossing my legs underneath me. We began working, occasionally making small talk with one another and comparing notes. Of course he made the occasional sly comment, but they were significantly less then usual. He actually seemed...nice. After about half an hour of working on our essays, i felt his icy cold stare burning into the side of my head. I turned to look at him, he quickly moved his gaze else where. I gave a small laugh, to which Draco smirked at. He was watching me write as my quill snapped beneath me. "shit," i muttered, "oh let me-"no it's fine don't worry." Both our hands reached for the spare quill on the table in front of us at the same time. He got there first, my hand awkwardly placed on top of his. His hand was pale in the light of the green sparks of the fire. i pulled my hand away immediately, i looked up at him and our eyes locked onto eachother. "sorry i- um," i quickly turned my face away from him as my cheeks began to flare up. I felt his cool touch against my cheek, he had turned my face towards his. His silvery eyes were staring at me intensely once again. Our lips were inches away, Silence fell upon us. what was i doing here? Why was he behaving like this? a hundred different thoughts flooded my head, i needed to leave. I placed my hand over his and pulled it off my cheek, " i'm sorry...um i- i should go," i picked up my things and shoved them into my bag, "sylvia, please...wait," he yelled after me, i heard him get up after me from the sofa. i threw my bag over my shoulder and left the room as fast as i could without looking back. He hated me, i kept telling myself, and i hate him. Yet if i hated him so much, then why did i already miss the cool touch of his hand against my cheek?
