Chapter 11

***Emily's P.O.V.*** (The next day)

The next day at school, I started to feel like I was missing something in my life. Like I wasn't complete. I just couldn't figure out what it was.

I sat at my spot in the back of the classroom just staring blankly out the window. I felt a tear slip from my eye and I quickly wiped it away. Why am I crying?

The bell rang and I quickly grabbed all my things and left the room. I rushed to my locker not wanting to talk to anyone, and went to my next class, which thankfully was my free period.

I decided to go to the library to try and clear my mind. Walking down the aisles, looking for a book to read, I felt as if I was being watched. Followed.

Pushing the feeling aside, I grabbed a book off of the shelf and read the title.

"The Fault in Our Stars"

I read the books description and decided to check it out. Once I paid for it, I sit down on the couch and begin to read.

I couldn't concentrate very well on reading. I still felt as if someone was watching me. I looked around casually. Nobody was looking at me.

I returned to reading my book and ignored everything around me. By now I was fully engaged in the book. I was flipping though page by page, feeling like a force was just pulling me in to the book. I couldn't stop reading it.

"Emily?" I heard someone call my name. I looked up from my book to see Zayn standing in front of me. He had bags under his eyes. He looks like he hasn't slept in days. Did I do this to him?

"Hi." I said quietly and put a bookmark in the book. I set it down in my lap and looked up at the dark haired boy that broke my heart.

"Can we talk?" He asked me, a small splash of hope in his tone. I moved over for him to sit down, and he did.

I stayed quiet and looked at him. He was staring at the floor with his hands folded in his lap. He looked really upset.

"I miss you." He said quietly, almost a whisper. My heart broke into pieces when those three words spilled out of his mouth.

"What I did to you was stupid, and selfish. If I could go back in time, I would go back and change that whole night." His voice cracked as he spoke and I could tell he was holding back tears, trying to be strong.

I looked down at my hands and held back tears. I could tell that he really meant what he said.

"I miss you, too." I replied. He looked up at me with hope in his eyes.

"But I'm just not ready to be in a relationship again, Zayn. I'm sorry." I said and a tear slipped from my eye. I quickly grabbed my things, wiped my tear away and walked out of the library.

I need to get away from here. I can't handle this. It's just too much. I ran out into the hallway and past Niall, Marcel, and Harry. By now I was crying my eyes out. I need to leave. Now.

***Marcel's P.O.V.***

I was walking with Harry and Niall to our next class when all of a sudden, Emily comes running out of the library crying. I tried to talk to her but she must not have heard me.

"What was that about?" I asked Harry. He looked at me with a concerned look on his face and shrugged.

I looked back at where she came from and saw Zayn standing there staring down the hallway with tears running down his face. What is going on?

Niall saw Zayn and ran over to talk to him. I watched as Niall started to quietly yell at Zayn. Is someone not telling me something?

"You go find Emily. I'll go talk to Zayn and Niall." Harry told me and I nodded, then ran outside to find Emily.

I found her moments later crying on the ground, under a tree. I walked over to her and kneeled down by her.

"Emily?" I called her name. She looked up at me with tears streaming down her cheeks. I sat on the ground, up against the tree and held open my arms. She crawled into them and cried. I held her close, rubbing her back.

"Shh. It's okay." I told her, trying to calm her down. I hated seeing her upset. I wish I knew why she was so hurt. I rubbed small circles on her back until she started to slowly calm down.

Whoever made such a sweet girl feel like this, is going to pay
