LIZAvan continued driving for what felt like years, and I sighed impatiently as I stared out the window.
"So impatient," he taunted as he heard my sigh, and I turned to shoot him an unamused look.
"Can you just tell me where we're going?"
"You told me to surprise you," he shrugged. "So that's what I'm gonna do."
"We've been driving for years," I whined in exaggeration, pouting as he turned down an empty road.
"It's been like, twenty minutes, Liz," he laughed as he glanced at me, his chocolate eyes twinkling in amusement.
"I don't like being patient, Jogia."
"I can tell," he snorted as he continued driving, a goofy grin gracing his lips as he looked at me again.
I sighed again, leaning my head against the window, my eyes slowly closing.
-
"Wake up, sleeping beauty," a voice cooed, slightly shaking my shoulder as my eyes fluttered open.
"Are we there yet?" I mumbled as I rubbed my eyes, noticing that we have stopped driving.
A light chuckle came from Avan. "We are."
I sat up straighter and looked out the window, seeing only a cottage sitting about ten feet away. It was one of those cottages you only see in Disney movies, like Snow White And The Seven Dwarves.
Avan stared at me with curiosity and amusement. "You wanna get out now?"
I bit back a yawn. "Why are we here?"
"It's my dad's," he replied, getting out of the car. "He rented it for a few years. He used to come here a lot before he retired. Figured it would be nice to check it out with you."
There was no way I could spit out a snippy remark, so I just nodded and followed him out of the car and up the steps of the cottage.
The sight inside was actually gorgeous.
It was very simple. A couch in the living room, with wooden tables and brown walls. It smelled like cinnamon and birchwood trees, a pleasurable scent.
There was a small bedroom in the back, and a nice kitchen with a wooden counter and chairs. It wasn't big, but it wasn't too small, either.
It was comfy and cozy, how cottages usually were. Though cottages are usually used during the winter. It was summer at the moment.
"It's nice," I breathed as I continued looking around. It really was a nice place.
"Thanks," Avan replied, checking the place out along with me. "I haven't been here in ages. It's a long drive, but to me, it's worth it."
"Why'd you wanna take me here?" I then asked, looking up at him curiously. "Out of all people?"
His chocolate eyes met my blue ones. "Because you're the one I like most."
Heat rose to my cheeks, but I quickly shrugged off his answer.
He was simply, a flirt.
