The Fading Sunshine

Chapter 17

***Hinata's POV

I woke up the next morning still wrapped in Kageyama's arms. Sunlight leaked in through the windows and lit up the room. I didn't want to wake up Kageyama so I decided to stay here until he woke up. I didn't mind anyways. His cozy hold was calming anyways.

After about 30 minutes Kageyama began to squirm. He opened is eyes and looked down at me. "So how long have you been awake?" He said with a small laugh.

"About half an hour." I responded.

"You could've gotten up if you wanted too." He said as he sat up and laughed once more.

"Well I didn't mind. I didn't wanna wake you up. Besides, It was comforting...." I said. I looked down at the ground, I could feel my face becoming warm with embarrassment.

"Well, I hoped it would help. You seemed pretty shaken up last night." He said. "Do you wanna head down to the cafeteria for breakfast, the teams probably already down there."

"Yeah, lets go." I said as we both stood up to leave.

When we reached the cafeteria we got our food and joined the team at the table. I sat next to Noya and Kageyama sat in-between me and Yamaguchi.

"It's about time you two sleepy heads woke up." Tanaka said.

"For real, we were worried you were going to sleep through the first game." Noya said followed by a loud laugh.

"Well actually... Hinatas not feeling too well this morning so he can't play in the games today." Kageyama said. I looked at him confused. What is he talking about. I mean I'm sore but besides that I feel fine.

He looked back at me and said "So after we get done eating, I have to get him back to the room." He looked at me with serious eyes.

"HINATAAAAA... You pick the most inconvenient times to be sickkkk." Noya whined.

"I know, i'm sorry guys maybe i'll feel better tomorrow." I said as Kageyama stood up, which meant it was time for him to take me back up to the room.

"Bye guys, do good." I said as I waved.

Kageyama and I walked down the hall and got onto the elevator.

"What was that about I feel fine. I can play." I said getting aggravated that he was making me sit out today.

"No Hinata, you can't. The nurse said last night that you should sit out for a day or two. Besides, you're going to tell me what's going on. Daichi and Suga know that i'm staying up here with you today. So I've got all day." Kageyama said in a serious tone.

"So if I tell you, are you going to let me play tomorrow?" I asked

"It depends on how you're feeling tomorrow." he said.

"But I feel fine now." I said

"You're not playing today. That's final." He said looking back at me.

The elevator door opened and we stepped out into the hallway. We walked to the room and locked the door so no one could barge in.

"Hinata you have to tell me what's going on with Koki. You've obviously been upset for the past couple of days and I want to help, but I can't if you're not honest with me." Kageyama said calmly.

"D-do I have to?" I stuttered. The thought of telling him about everything made me feel sick.

"We're not leaving until you tell me." Kageyama said.

"O-okay." I said as I looked down. Maybe he could help me. Maybe telling him will make things better. "Well, I recommend you sit down. It's a rather long story..." I said.
