Killua's POV

So I lied.

I'm good at everything I do. Even if I recently just learn about it, I can catch on quickly. The nights Bella had to go back to the hotel early I stayed practicing. We've known each other for a while now, so she lets me borrow the paddle board whenever I want. It makes me feel special that she trust me that much. Uh..anyway as I was saying. I already know how to paddle board. I've been practicing in secret from the first day she lent it to me. Or y'know entrusted it to me, expecting I'd put it back. The reason I haven't told her that I already know how to paddle board is.... because I want to spend more time with her. And I fear that if I tell her that I already know she'd take it the wrong way. Like maybe she'd think I wanted to make fun of her for not knowing. Or that I was trying to waste her time on purpose.

Its already Monday, on the last week were both gonna be staying at this hotel. What other time am I gonna have to spend with her.

"Stop thinking about that." He slapped both his hands against his cheeks.

"Are you alright?" Killua's younger brother approached him. Again wearing a Yukata, for no reason.

"Yeah Kalluto I'm fine."

"Big brotherrr how long are you gonna take." Alluka stood in the lake by the shore, the water going up to her shins. She was wearing a sun dress and a bucket hat to block the sun from her face. In her hands she held a small net, she was gonna use that to catch fish.

"I'm coming Alluka." Killua replied, stepping down the stairs of the dock into the lake.

"Killua come in more quietly!! Your scaring all the salmon away." Alluka shook her net in his face.

"As if they can out swim me! Ill catch them for you." He boasted. Alluka handed him the fishing net, cheering him on.

Slowly he creeped up to the fish that were all huddling around in a group together. Then he quickly swooped the net down to catch them.

Huh? I missed?

He swung, and missed again.

Are these stupid fish testing me?

"STUPID FISH!" He yelled in the water, chasing after the fish with a net in hand.

"Killua watch your step! You're gonna trip on a--" Alluka warned him, but it was too late. Killua already tripped over a rock and fell into the shallow water, face first.

"Haha getting outsmarted by fish I see." Killua sat up from the water rubbing his eyes to see where the familiar voice was coming from.

"Are you always gonna be here whenever I do something embarrassing." He groaned, looking over to see Bella.

"Perhaps."

"W..Well if you can stand there and make fun of me for not being able to catch fish, I'd like to see you try."

"Haha noo way, I never said I was good at doing that." She chuckled, her eyes changing direction.

"Who's this?" She said, looking at Alluka.

"I'm his big sister Alluka!" Alluka smiled.

"Little sister." Killua corrected.

"Oh, she looks like you!" Bella said, sitting down on the steps.

"Do you want to catch fish with us?" Alluka approached the steps, getting closer to Bella.

"Well I suppose I can try!"

Are you kidding--

"Come on!" Alluka said grabbing Bella's hand and pulling her into the water. Then Alluka snatched the net from Killua's hand and turned to Bella.

"Ill teach you how to do it! By demonstrating...OOH FISH THERE!" Mid sentence, Alluka ran off determined to catch a fish, forgetting about her lesson.

"Shes so cute!" Killua walked up to Bella, who was gushing over his sister.

"What does she have that I don't." He mumbled, not expecting Bella to hear what he said.

"Well I think your cute too." She turned, facing him.

"Wh-What?" Killua said, he was starting to get flustered.

"Did I stutter? I said you're cute." Bella's eyes didn't avert or look away, Killua couldn't tell if she was being serious or not.

"Y-You don't just say stuff like that out of no where. I cant even tell if your being serious or not-"

"But I am being serious."

He froze, not knowing what to say. Is this a confession? If so why now!? Why here?!

"Look Killua, I'm just gonna be straight forward and say it." Bella sighed, crossing her arms.

"S-Say what?"

S-Shes not nervous. Shes toying with me...no she wouldn't do that?!

.

.

"Killua..." She gulped, "I think I might like you."

And at the moment, it felt like time had stopped. Just like back on the other side of the lake, when he first realized his feelings for her. It feels different, much different from that time. Killua's heart started to beat really fast. She likes me? The joy he was feeling at that moment was unreal. He never wanted to stop feeling the feelings this girl made him feel.

"I hate to tell you like this... but our flight was booked for Wednesday night. They changed it so suddenly. So I-I thought I wouldn't have another chance to tell you." Killua saw tears as tears started to form in her eyes.

After everything you've done to me. The words from his fever dream started to recite in his head, over and over.

No its just a dream, it cant be real! Stop making yourself think that way Killua, stay focused.

He turned his attention back to Bella, who was now crying real tears.

It was like his heart had just been stabbed a trillion times. Is this what he was gonna do to her? He hated seeing her in this much pain, and if being with him only made her cry more, what good is there in confessing back.

"I'm sorry." Unexpectedly, words started spilling out of his mouth. Ignorant to what he was saying.

"I cannot return the feelings."

Bella's face dropped.

Wait, am I doing this right? Will this really be better for her? He thought. He had this gut feeling that he was making a mistake, but he couldn't take back what he said now.

"I..I see. Its fine, I didn't expect you to feel that way back. After all.. its so unexpected of me, and and I've only known you for three weeks. But I hope..I hope we can still be-"

She couldn't even finish her sentence. Next thing Killua knew he was watching the love of his life dash off into the distance, him not being able to stop her.
